how to apply multipal visa ( entry visa )

hi
my work permit expiring in 1 month I have applied online to extend it which will take 2 to 3 month if I need to travel in the meantime is it safe to travel or should I wait for my work permit?
also how to apply for multiple visa or visit visa? and how long will I get a visa for as my permit is expiring in 1month.

please anyone can help....

1. You can't really apply in Canada for a new TRV until your work permit is issued.
2, If you don't have a valid TRV, you won't be readmitted unless you are only going to the US and returning within the validity of the work permit.
3. Note if you leave and are readmitted, you can't work under implied status if your work permit has expired,
