PR card application--is SIN # mandatory IMM5444E

Is SIN number compulsory to put in section F, Question 24 'Income tax history and filing History' of form IMM5444E.

This is my 1st day on PR and do not have a SIN number..Some how at the border it was not applied by the immigration office.

Please advise

Did you get your SIN? Did you get it at the same time at Service Canada office or online? Please reply as I am planning for soft landing and need to figure out how many days I need to stay there waiting for SIN.

You can get it when finishing your landing procedure assuming the service canada booth is still open. If not you can go to a service canada office and you will get it on the spot, you do not have to wait days for your SIN.
