This is frustrating....even april applicant are getting PPR while some of us who applied earlier gets to wait. Refugee gets their papers processed for 3 weeks only. On the other hand we who are working for years here in canada are suffering from a long processing time and miticulous background check, security check and so on and so forth.
This has never made any sense to me, refugees, spouses and etc get little to no screening and much faster processing times while they make people with Master's and PhDs degrees (earned in Canada) go first through the long step to get a Nomination (10 months in my case) then live in waiting hell for 18 months.

Why punish the most qualified immigrants with the longest processing time?

Hey guys, Jan 2017 Applicant here. I just talked to a cic agent and they said everything was passed a few of weeks ago. They're just waiting for a final review by the officer. Any guesses on what to expect now?

That's not true. I've read it here in CIC news that before it takes 3 months to process the papers of a refugee but now it only takes 3 weeks. Probably the main reason is they don't want to assist them for too long that they decided it would be better to give them early approvals so they can already work and not depend on the allowance that the government provides them. I dont remember the exact amount they are receiving but they do and free housing too.

Yes, you're right. It's so unfair. It's the Prime minister decision to take priority on refugees rather than us (legal applicants).

I've just looked on cic website and the processing times vary from 23 months to 30 months. I have no idea what 3 months you are talking about.

You know what i dont have to prove it to you i'm just telling you i've read it and if it makes you happy to believe 23 months or even 30 months that's fine with me. I have no problem with that if it makes you sleep at night. Hope you are having a nice day today :)

Im jan 2017 applicant and waiting for any response and my friend who was July 2017 applicant received his ppr 3weeks ago, So I am not sure what is going on with CIC but there is no relevancy between processing times for everyone and most disturbing thing you cannot argue or get any satisfactory answer from anywhere
