Transit visa applied on April 6th. No response yet

Hi,

We have a flight that transits through Canada. I checked the visa requirements and confirmed I and my husband will need a Transit Visa. So we applied online accordingly with all documents etc on April 6th. I submitted the application in USA. My flight departs on May 18th. So far I have not even received their email asking for our passports.

How long does it take for them to respond back asking for passport?
And once they do ask for passports, if I don't have enough time, should I try and visit on of their centers in person for same day visa stamping?

Any info/advice is greatly appreciated.

Processing can take just as long as for a regular visitor visa/TRV or sometimes even longer.

How long does it take for them to respond back asking for passport?

If approved, you will be asked to submit your passports. No guesses as to when you will get passport requests.

And once they do ask for passports, if I don't have enough time, should I try and visit on of their centers in person for same day visa stamping?

No, there's no same day service for visa stamping. In fact, the CSC website advises for at least 10-15 business days for this
