Hello Guys,

I had my Test and Interview yesterday from Edmonton office. Test was not as easy as I expected. Able to score 18/20. Interview went smooth. They checked my documents like Passport, PR Card, DL, COPR and just my son's (5 year old minor) PR Card. Had some questions like how many times I traveled outside Canada, About job etc. Finally she said I am good to go and they will let me know about next step in 2,3 months.

My Ecase hasn't changed to Decision Made. I thought it will change today. Is it normal or should I have to worry? In the spreadsheet I could see some guys's status has changed to DM after the very next day of Test and some other's after 5 days, 7 days and even after 2 months.

Is everything good?

Thanks

Just finished with my test at Scarborough Town center. Whole process from start of test to end too 45 mins and I was out.

The interviewer verified documents and asked me some general questions about my travels, work, and family. Some stuff about my neighboorhne where I live.

She didn't tell me anything about the next steps.

I did score 19 and my English is pretty good.
I hope I didn't give her any grounds for refusal - that is if an interviewer can refuse on any basis.

She asked me about New York where I had spent a weekend, and I said with the kind of traffic it feels just like home in India. And she kinda smirked. Did I do something stupid here?
No, you didn't do anything stupid. That's just social banter (and shows your English is good enough to make jokes).

(And that's impressively fast, to get through the whole thing in 45 minutes)

Not all officers volunteer information about what happens next, so all you can do is wait patiently.

Your interview itself won't lead to a refusal. If there was something that worried the officer (about absences, or lack of knowledge about your job/neighborhood/...) they may ask for more information, so you can show that you were present or so you can show that you provided accurate information with your application. That would not be fun (unless you really like doing administrative work) but it would not be a refusal.

It's impossible to predict if that will happen. Some people have really unpleasant interviews, being "interrogated" about some small trip they forgot and then aren't asked for additional information later. Others have a really pleasant chat with the officer and are sent a request to submit more information.

I know it's hard not to worry, but when all is said and done, you are now two steps closer to Canadian citizenship. You passed the test and showed the officer your knowledge of English is good.

Yes, that's normal. DM only shows once everything for your application is reviewed. There is nothing to worry about.

The officer doing the interview didn't say that your background checks were complete, so those may still be in progress (being invited for the test does not mean that all those checks have completed). They may still get in touch to ask for more information, which they would then have to review. Sit back, relax, enjoy your success in passing the test and completing the interview.

Test was not that much tough. In my case I just under estimate the Test as every time I was getting 100% in the practice Test. Just prepare 1-2 hours for 4,5 days. 70% of questions were very easy 20% were 50/50 and 10% (2 Questions) I have no clue.

All the Best. Please don't take the Test easily. Put some efforts and just think the hardships you took while applying for the Citizenship. Good Luck

I got an acknowledgment on Feb 15, and I have not heard anything from CIC yet. My status on the status page has not changed from "Application Received". Anyone in the same state as me?

Just got back from the exam/interview guys and got 20/20!!!:D:D:D
I found this website to be the most useful of them all! http://www.v-soul.com/onlinetest/

So I got there on time but couldn't find the room where the exam was going to be held. I and 2 other people were 2mins late but the lady said it was fine because she didn't start giving the instructions yet anyways. She was really nice... but please don't be like me and try to be there atleast 15mins early. ;) So we sat down, were given the instructions and were given the exam which I was the second person to finish out of 13 people. Exam was hella easy!!! Finished it in like 3-5mins! I was trying to figure out when the hard and tricky questions were coming but none came!!! Might not be the same for everyone though because obviously everyone gets a different exam.

I gave the invigilator my exam and was told to go into another room for the interview. The lady who interviewed me was fairly young and was very nice so everything pretty much went smoothly. ADVICE: Do bring everything imaginable to the interview for proof and reference. The originals of every document that you submitted because you never know what they may ask for. I didn't think they would ask for the original COPR but brought it anyway and that was the first thing she asked for... as well as my University degree certificate. Also, she went through my expired and new passport to ensure that my dates from the Physical Presense Calculator were correct. Anyway, all went well in my book. After asking me a few more questions (interview lasted around 15-20mins the most) she told me it would be another 3-4 month wait for the ceremony but I doubt it would take that long with not much applications from Halifax and all.

Good luck to everyone else on this journey to Canadian Citizenship!!!:D:D:D
Thank you for sharing the website. Its a big help!

I passed my exam and interview on March 15 and no Decision made yet. It's been 7 days already, while our spreadsheet shows an average of 1-3 days. I'm getting fidgety.
