Hi Folks, great support all over. Thanks..Couple of more questions -

1. My wife is principal applicant and I will be the secondary, so is it mandatory to have my ECA done as well being a secondary applicant ?
2. For work-ex, is experience letter which we get after leaving an org. suffice the needs or something additional needs to be mentioned in terms of the job description and all ?

1. If you want to claim points for your education, then yes you must get your ECA done too. You will be able to add to the overall score. Similar with IELTS too...it's not mandatory for secondary applicant but definitely adds points.
2. Experience letter in the format given on cic is ideal. It should mention start date-end date, salary, list of duties and responsibilities, number of hours per week or mention the term 'full-time'. Besides this letter it will be good to submit pay stubs, appointment letter, appraisal letter, tax documents if any to make your case stronger.

:( yes, that's true!
S-7.5, L-8, W-7, R-8

Try to calculate CRS score with Speaking and Writing both 8.0 or above and see if it is worth a shot.

That is what I am doing. I scored LRWS --- 7/9/7.5/8.5 which is 8 overall. I am retaking IELTS again this Saturday.

This is bit of something way ahead in future for me but I am contractor for a consulting firm in US. Do I need to get letter from HR at my firm or from someone at client or both?

If you're getting paid by the firm then letter from firm makes most sense. You would also be proving whom you recieved payments from in the form of pay stubs.

Given up hope of a draw today, consigning myself to a long wait because I lose 5 points on Monday:(:(:(:(

Many congrats!! Really glad to hear this. What is your timeline? Have you decided where you will be moving to?

Thank you! My timelines as under

Nomination December 11th 2017
ITA December 20th
AOR Jan 23rd
PPR March 17th
Passport Submission March 21st

Thank you so much for your advice.
Yes, I will be getting 435 with highest score i.e, CLB 10 with 7.5 in writing and 8.5 in listening. But I am living on the Caribbean island where I have to travel to the USA for my IELTS. which is very expensive.
Also, I just checked the available test dates in the USA and surprisingly there are no dates available until June.
Apparently, many are trying to move to Canada from the USA.
You already have a maximum score in all the components except for listening. If you get 8.5 in listening, there will be an increase in your score. It will be worth to try. May I know your CRS?

Right now it is 402 but if I score 8.0 or above in Listening, it shoots up to 453.

Waiting on 430...I hope it goes down to this level or even lower just like last year. Unless one of you has a different opinion on why it will not go down??
