He will only have to submit the forms to an immigration officer at the airport to have it worked on and then sign the parts he is supposed to.
Regarding the Social Insurance Number, he'll have to go to service Canada with his passport and his copy of the immigration form to get it, it takes about 10mins.(That was what i went through)

Hi All,
Please am a little confused on what to fill as my marital status. I was married traditionally in Nigeria. The marriage was never registered. The bride price has been returned which officially means that the marriage is over. I am applying for my PR and am wondering if I should fill "SINGLE" as my status or DIVORCED?
Is traditional marriage legally recognized in Canada.

I will appreciate your responses. Thank you.

His COPR would be collected, he would sign both, and be given his copy.
To get SIN, at the airport, depends on what day and time of the day he lands.
If the service Canada desk is open, he would have it done, if not, he gets it from their office.

Hello forumers. congrtatulations to all the ppr holders. After contacting my mp to look into my application for us i was told an interview is required. My question is does AVO provide interpreters at the office or tranlators for interview. My wife was very anxious when i told her about it and prefers to have a tranlator to help with the process. Thank you.
I remember your case, AVO would get back to you explicitly and state, what your wife will bring to the interview.
I remember you had a non-accompanying dependant, and they had concerns with the relationship with the minor's father.
Please read@becos post, her husband had the same concerns as yours, and had an interview too.
If an interpreter is needed, you would make arrangements for that, interviews are conducted in English and French, however, the interview letter would be well detailed.
I wish you all the best, your wife's confidence is key.

Read critically, it never stated who is sponsoring him or her. It is not only your spouse who can sponsor you to become a PR.
The write never made a statement of any new or on going relationship, the entire writing was base on a previous marriage which was not documented.
Tell me, how do you prove to traditional marriage and dowry being returned to CIC? Those folks are going to be asking for marriage and divorce certificates so why not make your case simple?
