Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi!
I've recently been in the same situation where I lost my job due to lack of funding (I'm in academic research). As long as your work permit is valid, you can legally stay in the country after your contract ends. HOWEVER. You can not work for another employer before getting a new work permit (which you can easily obtain with a valid job offer and your CSQ -you are exempt from LMIA). Also, I'd recommend not going abroad, because you will probably lose your work permit when you come back (since you no longer hold the job you got it for. But as long as you stay here, you're OK.
Regarding your comment above highlighted in red, could you tell me if I can go to the border to get new closed work permit with a job offer and CSQ. And my PR application is ongoing. Does it count as employer sponsor? As some companies they dont sponsor work visa.My current PGWP is expiring in two months.

Your PR application and your work permit are two separate things.
For your work permit to be considered under the LMIA exemption you need three things: a valid job offer, a valid CSQ and a valid work permit. So in this case it means you need to apply before your PGWP expires. Your future employer will need to make an official offer on the CIC employer portal and pay a fee of 230$. They will then get a number of the job offer, which they will give to you. You have to enter that somewhere on the application form for work permit renewal.
Regarding the question of flagpoling, I think some people here have done it, but I've heard conflicting comments on whether or not it's possible (from all I could find on the CIC website it didn't look like it). Since I had my work permit but no longer the job that went with it, I didn't want to take the risk of them refusing it and keeping my permit that I had, so I just applied online (and waited 80 days!!! normally it's about 30-40 though). In your case though, if you go while your PWGP is still valid, worst case they'll say you can't and they'll let you back in on the PWGP (which is an open work permit, so it doesn't matter if you have a job or not).
Also, know that as long as you apply for a new permit before the PWGP expires, you will be on implied status and keep all the rights you have now with your PWGP. As long as you don't leave Canada.

Companies who don't sponsor work visa probably mean the LMIA which is very expensive. Make sure they know you are exempt!

Thanks a lot for your help. Just to clarify one more thing, You mentioned "Your future employer will need to make an official offer on the CIC employer portal and pay a fee of 230$. ", so the process is the future employer to do it on CIC which i think in my case the company doesn't want to go through that. Would it be possible to apply online by myself through the new employer work permit stream (closed work permit) OR it has been applied by the employer on CIC?

(application recieved on nov1st,2017 for processing..AOR and medicals results Sometime in the second week of january. ).. My employer has given the job application number so that i can get a closed permit. Will that be a closed work permit or an open work permit(if status is implied)? How long it might take to get the pr?

Also i have a score higher than the cut of for permanent residency via express entry.. At this stage,Can i apply via express entry? Will that be faster? Is it allowed to apply in two categories and withdraw the other ,if got picked in one category

Go for Express entry ; waiting time for QC is 15 months .
You're allowed for federal stage only one application.

Hi Mriekje,
I am in the same situation I have closed workpermit till 2019 and will be no longer working for the company. In this case what are the consequences with applying new closed workpermit at candian boarder (Flagpole).

Online workpermit process will take 2-3 months, but employer will not ready to wait for this duration. Will I be able to do flagpole at boarder.
