On the day of the citizenship ceremony (but you need to wait 2 days before using it to request a passport: the database needs to be updated as well).

You heard right. Up till the test invite, it moves at an average pace. But wait for oath is the longest I've seen in Canada.

I used to visit states only for dinner / shopping. Most of the time i returned same day or sometimes late night 2:00 AM

I do not remember the dates. Any sugsestion.
Border is just 10 minutes from my home.

Yes, you need to account for same day trips on the physical presence calculator. These don't count as absences from Canada, however.
