Hi

I submitted my common law sponsorship application early December 2017 and have not heard back at all. IS that normal? How long should I wait before I get worried?

AOR is taking about 8 weeks now. If it's over that you should be able to call and find out if it's being returned.

CIC site says the initial approval is taking 70 days. so, yours might be just around the time. Hang in there.

70 days is like 10 weeks, which is 2.5 months. That’s too long for an AOR. Where did you see this initial approval thing? Is there a place to track that?

Thank you. It has been almost 9 weeks now. I tried calling them today but no luck. Do you know which extension number i should use? Or which numbers I should choose on their automated phone response?

sorry for the delayed reply. The initial approval (sponsorship approval) days are given just under the total processing times. This is in the page where you search for application processing times.

OK, My bad... Apologies....
The sponsor assesment days are only mentioned for Dependent Child sub category
Here is the exact location.
Then select "Sponsoring a Family Member" in the What are you applying fro dropdown.
Then select the sub category Dependent child and then the location.

HI, did you figure it out?
I am in the same situation. I applied early December 2018 and It's end of February 2019 now. And I haven't heard anything back from them at all.
I'm worried that my application was lost or something...

Its normal most ppl getting aor now are sept/oct/nov applicants
So they are prob not at the December ones yet.

This is not true. Almost all the december applicants have already received their AoR’s latest being end of december applicants.

You should definitely call and ask them for the status of your application.
