hmmm, yeah that's what I thought originally as well. So lets say the passport request comes in, where would the passport have to be sent? If it's India, that's messed up, to send it from USA to India, and then India to USA.

i think when that happens, you can contact them and they might just tell you to submit it at Buffalo or somewhere else. It is not recommended to send passports across borders, so they will definitely let you know/ you can ask when the time comes.

that too, they get to deal with applications from 3 other countries- they should just be dealing with Indian applicants/ or CIC should just send the applications to NDVO if the applicants are queued for interview so that they can do it there. Why are all the other straight forward applications suffering in this. Also, how does it make sense that those who are being interviewed are being processed faster than the ones who are not queued for interview. Nothing makes sense logically. Why are they doing this to us

Whereas things move a lot faster(comparatively) when Mississauga was sending requests for Medical, Schedule A and PCC. Mr. Hussain should have actually got someone who went through NDVO process(& took 12 months) to speak not a photo op they did today.

In terms of transparency NDVO is worse - I see they don't send pre-arrival emails either. Manila VO processes similar volume and they are working way harder than ours. it makes me think if NDVO has working style of a different country not canada.

Guys on a different note - in regards to MP Jenny Kwan (Van East, NDP) who has a petition about security check in the commons, I was thinking if we should contact her about NDVO processing and how we are stuck for months here and bring it to her attention? May be she can raise it in the question hour or petition this issue? If she takes a look at this forum and spreadsheet she will know.

yeah it definitely got slower at NDVO.. last year at this time they were almost done with May and started with some June and even July applicants had DM's by now. You can refer to the NDVO 2016 application forum and see for yourself. It is absolutely ridiculous and I feel like the 2017 applicants were guinea pigs and had to suffer the most in this mess of a situation.

One query I have is that how come with NDVO in most cases they start the BGC and the next day (in most cases) they get the DM’s. Do they not do the BGC for them? Do they pick and choose? Or right now, when we do not see a BGC update on our file- does it actually mean that they are working on our BGC? I wish there was more transparency to understand this! How come a person gets a BGC update one day and the next day DM? :/

So I refused to perform hindu tradition though we have over 150 guests at our wedding including both families, close and distant relatives and friends. I have over 50 pictures of ceremony as well as 100 pictures of our relationshio before and after marriage. Do we have to have a wedding where we perform Hindu pooja and all just because its happened in India or just a traditional ceremony is fine where both the families are happily involved in marriage?

whatever you have done so far is fine, include all the photos you have and every evidence you have of the wedding rituals. Also include a letter as to why you did not have a traditional wedding- you can say you are not a practicing Hindu. However you had all your family members there and had tons of photos! So it shouldn't be a problem. Most of the time, the strictness comes from the fact that not enough evidence were included in the original package. Include as much photos of the wedding/before after the wedding of you together, chat logs, receipts from the weddings, gift exchanges, and explanation of what you don't have- submit it as it is! If they really want traditional photos (they will request you the docs- but I am pretty sure as long as you include all the photos like you have said and an explanation they will be satisfied with it!)

yes same here. so they are done the eligibility and R10 checks, criminality also for us. So all they have left is the security check? I wonder how that works? I was thinking do they check every single address that the PA has lived in/ all the things they have stated on the SA. or do they just pick and choose who/what to check lol. I've seen people in this forum whose PA have had lots of travel get DM within a day after BGC update- it seriously does not make sense to me :/

your case does not sound bad at all. There was a Hindu priest- you have photos of him! Include it! You had families there- include it. Basically just include all the evidences you can- you should be fine. Just make sure to include an explanation of everything. On each picture, include a little explanation of what you are doing!
You have enough evidences for before/after wedding and it is a genuine relationship- there is nothing to worry about in these situations! If they are still crazy and ask you for traditional photos after including an explanation (I am pretty sure they won't) then you can explain again. Just whatever you said here, say it in a better "official" way in a letter and things should be A-OKAY I know of a situation where the coupel did not perform religoious cermony, just did the engagement, and court marriage and they were asked to send traditional wedding photos (mind you this was an arranged marriage, and they had no prior evidence of a relationship so it is obvious that NDVO would ask for more evidence in this situation as the couple thought they could speed up the process by just doing an engagement and a court marriage)- However, your case is different! You are married, you were in a long relationship, you have evidences, you have explanations- Not a problem!

So in our cases - Sponsor Eligibility check is done(to approve as sponsor). NDVO should be doing the PA Eligibility check - which is going on.......

Meanwhile they are also collecting reports on the PA Background - I believe it will not be just addresses, but a lot more complex things they check about the applicant (for example military service, terrorism etc etc.). The report is sent back to IRCC.
Before they make the decision they check these reports and then final security status is cleared and we get the DM.

I had an extensive travel history (Europe & US) plus lived in different addresses since 18, but during my PR process I was within regular timelines. As long as the travel is within countries where these agencies can get reports easily, it will not be too long.

Actually, our case is similar as well. We are in long distance relationship for over good 4 years. And I went to India to get engage. Then went again to get married. But we didn't perform our marriage with HolyFire or what they call as per hindu rituals. It was very simple with chanting of verses by a Pandit. But we did mentioned in our file that it was a traditional marriage even though it didn't included HolyFire senario. Will it harm our case? We had around 200-250 guests invited. We provided only 20 Pictures(Which includes Engagement pics, marriage pics, other outing pics) as mentioned in the check list with a good cover letter explaining our 4 years of relationship with referencing to those 20 pictures. Should it be enough to make our case strong? I saw some posts here in forum, were ppl got request from NDVO asking for picture with HolyFire.. So bit worried :S

I got my GCMS notes today. Under organization & Entities :1 , they have masked information under section 16(c).
Under Application assignment- Assigned To, Assigned By and Due date is blank.

My file was put into processing on Nov 6th and it was last updated on Nov 9th.
Nothing after that.

Is there anyone who can put some light on this?

MAY applicants from NDVO who ordered GCMS notes- what is your due date on your files? Just to get an idea of what they had originally "proposed" as the due date. Yeah I know the due dates mean nothing and they can easily change it but just to get an idea .... I know with some June applicants who ordered notes, their due dates were in March so naturally May should have been sometime in FEB?.. Anyone can let me know about this?
