What do I do after getting open work visa

Hi everyone,

I am spouse of an international student in Canada, and I have already got approved with my open work permit while I am in Canada. I have the work permit paper with me and it is valid until this September.

I am just wondering, because I entered Canada as a visitor (and I could stay six month after entry as visitor) - do I need to go for any additional step to extend my stay until this Sep / or change my visitor visa to working visa? Or I don't need to do anything else to stay until this Sep because I already have the work permit with me?
