A child born in Canada was brought to Ghana by his mother some years back when the child was five years. now the mother is dead and the boy need to go back to his country for proper care. He can not travel by his own, unless assist by some one. And what type of visa needed for the person to travel

If born in Canada, then the child is a citizen. A Canadian birth certificate is required to apply for a Canadian passport for travel. A Canadian citizen never requires a visa to travel to Canada.

There is no special visa for such a situation. They need to apply for a TRV and meet the requirements like any other person. It would be easier for a Canadian family member to go to Ghana and return with the child.

Does the child already have his Canadian passport? What is the current legal custody situation?

He is asking since the child is only 5 years old, and he needs adult to accompany him back to Canada, and what kind VISA the adult needs to get.

And I believe it is the same of TRV, but in order to obtain the TRV, the adult needs to demonstrate a strong tie to the home country. There is no special treatment for the adult just because a Canadian minor needs to come back to Canada.

This is more complicated. Who has legal custody of the child? Or else are you trying to relinquish him to the Canadian state. A 5 year old will need permission by parents or legal guardian to travel.

Why doesn't the father just travel to Ghana and fly back with him??

Would be easier than trying to find someone to accompany him to Canada.

Missed that the father is Canadian. Yes the father will most likely have to come and get him and travel with legal documents stating the the mother is dead and he has custody.

Some airlines can provide assistance to minors traveling alone. Like someone who will help him find his gate, help with connections etc.. just a thought..

Probably not possible for a minor with a mental disability. Would need a specially trained person to accompany him the entire way (or the father).

The child is 17 and has a mental challenge. Thanks for your concern

You are not giving much info.

Is the father in Canada actually a Canadian citizen/PR?
Does the father intend to live with the boy in Canada?
Who is the boy living with now?
Who is paying for the travel to Canada? Does child have his Canadian passport?
Why can't the father just travel to pick him up as that would be easiest solution?

Read through the responses from the beginning. You have been asked several questions and need to answer them if you want proper advice.

Because this doesn't appear to be Dad posting this query I suspect that Dad going there to get him is not really an option.

Possibly, but then confused by the title "father is willing..."
