lol how wonderful would that be :D
not yet. however, CIC contacted me today regarding my PR application. Theyve asked me to pay the RPRF fee.

As of yet, due to the processing of my rehab application my PR application was stuck since March 17 on the background processing step and duely so. CIC doesn't start doing security checks unless your backgrond aka mainly rehab application in this case is approved.
Congratulations Dude!! I don't know how long Los Angeles, CA will take. Mine is 8 months since they received my rehab application. Good luck with you PR!!

Hi All,

Is there anyone recently applied for criminal rehabilitation in 2017 or late 2016? I know there is very less information on criminal rehab information such as processing time, success rate. I thought if we can use this thread to share our experience and help each other. My application has been received on 05/18/2017 by Los Angeles, Consulate office and i am not sure how long they will take to process my application. I am doing this process because i want to immigrate to Canada and i am not sure if i can apply for immigration without criminal rehab application get approved. Please share any kind of knowledge or information or experience about criminal rehabilitation.

I hope to see lot of response to this post.

Thanks
Hi just wanna ask you a question.
When you submit your rehab, how many sets of supporting documenation did you submit?

Pre-Assessed..
I just saw this posting, I wanted to share my experience. If the person applying for rehabilitation is an American citizen, they can apply at most land points of entry. This is what I did for my wife. We just completed the application and supporting docs, drove down the road to our nearest major border crossing (we live in Maine), handed the border agent the application, paid the fee and left. This is not a well known method for processing these apps, so the turnover is fast, she got her approval and rehabilitation in a few days via email and later via post. I would suggest going to a larger border crossing (they must have immigration officer, the tiny ones generally don't), but not a crazy busy one like Detroit/Windsor). We did ours at the Houlton/Woodstock border crossing. This is a much faster option for US citizens.

I started my PR process but my criminal rehab application is still under process. It's been 9 months since i submitted my criminal application. I am hoping CIC might look at my criminal rehab application once i submit my PR application.

I applied rehab and PR last July2015 until now still waiting... the last time I heard from CIC is a request for repeat medical (because we did upfront medical), updated police clearance and RPRF last May 2017 until now havent heard from them again
I am also applying for PR now. My criminal rehab application was submitted in May 2017. Did you hear anything back on your PR case?

Hi,

first time i have applied in late 2016 in NY Office but my application was rejected because i did not attach Indian police Clearance with my application.
now i have applied again thru the Canadian attorney and the processing time mentioned is 12-18 months.
just passing the time and hoping for the best. please do share any update if you have from the LA Office. seems like we both have applied almost at the same time.

How long does it take for them to reject your application when you applied without PPC from India? I am just wondering if they have to reject then when they do it after receiving application?

I am a US Citizen and living here since last 20 years and i thought i just need to send the FBI Clearance And State Police Certificate along with the other Docs But NY consulate want all PCCs from your age of 18
When i applied first time they said they will take from 6-12 months to process my Rehab, and after 7 months i received the letter that i didn’t satisfied the officer and my case is rejected. They didn’t even mention why they rejected but i request for the notes and i found that Indian PCC was missing in my application.
Now my Attorney is handling this for the second Application.

I would strongly advise everyone to hire a Canadian Attorney to apply Criminal Rehab.

Dude I did use Canadian attorney but not sure what she did. I am just hoping everything should be fine in terms of documentation. I did provide two recommendations one from my friend and one from my wife. Not sure if they will accept from my wife. It's been 9 months. I have not heard anything from them yet.

i gave 3 recommendation letters because of attorney asked, one from my employer and other 2 from my friend and colleagues.
i think you should be fine because you are going thru attorney. did you submit FBI clearance, state police certificate and PCC from india ?
also did you expunge your case thru the court ?

Sorry, I also provided three recommendation letters. Yes I did provide FBI, state and India PPC. I did not get expunged because it's not easy. I talked to lawyer for expungement but all said you can try but it's not guaranteed. Did you get expunged?
