Hi, my student permit expires in march. I applied for an extension on december 30 after regestering in winter 2018 semester.
I got an email from my college that due to low gpa they have withdrawn me from my courses and put me on probabtion for a semester . Would my student permit be refused. What are my options. Any help will be appreciated
Thanks

It's quite possible your study permit extension will still be approved. I would wait and see what happens.

Since you've been put on probation, you'll need to stop working (assuming you are working). You won't be able to start working again until you begin school again full time next semester.

Being on probation will most likely impact your PGWP. To qualify for a PGWP, your studies have to be continuous (meaning, without breaks). You may want to consider changing schools and programs if obtaining a PGWP is important to you. If you switch to a college - make sure it's a public college (not private).

Hello, is it still considered SP extension if I’m attending with different school? My visa will expire June 2018 (with private school - NO PGWP) and got Sept admission in a public school. Haven’t submitted any request yet as I don’t know if it has to be a new SP application or just an extension?

Thanks guys for your input in advance.

According to my information,
You can apply for a student permit extension but you have to notify cic about the change in college/university

Thank you however my problem is that the original visa with private school will expire before my new intake so there is a gap. I guess you can change DLI in the middle of your SP (still valid while changing school).
