Quite honestly, I don't think this should be reflected as a January AOR... it's very likely from the October application, which is in keeping with the numerous other applicants from October who are receiving their AORs with the same timeline. By keeping this in January it's going to throw off all of the statistics for the new applicants.
I agree but we wont know till he checks his Ecas and knows when was the application received. I will remove it for now till confirmed!

Hi there,

We`re about to send in my husband`s application and I`m hoping someone is online now :)

My husband did not file taxes for 2012. Since they asked for the last 5 years, we put 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 (all yes and yes), for 2017, we put yes for required to file and blank for taxes file with a note saying that we will file. Is this incorrect? Should we put No with a note? I read on the January thread that an application was returned for a blank answer.

Also, he has a secondary school certificate from going to Adult Education. Is this sufficient for the language requirements? Any help is much appreciated! Thank you!

This forum, for all the really good things it does, also has a negative side. Some people who are desperate for information are looking at some other postings, and the moment that someone who has a later date than theirs shares a result, they immediately go into full panic mode and assume that something has gone horribly wrong with their own application. This explains the so called "lost" October applications. There's a possibility that some may actually be lost, but I'd bet the vast majority are simply slightly delayed for any one of a million possible reasons, and there's nothing at all to be concerned about.

Remember this important thing about statistics - an "average" does not automatically mean that you will see a similar result for yourself. If the average is 45 days, and there are some people who got results in 5 days, then that means there also could be some people who got 80 days. You could be one of those people, and it doesn't mean anything went wrong. Also remember that this forum is a small sample size, and is bias towards being populated by people who have had issues in the past (that's why they sought out help with a forum in the first place in many cases). And lastly, the processing order is a general guide as to when you might expect progress in your own application but is not a strict schedule. Outliers will exist. Don't panic. :)

We did the same thing for my wife's application. For the year 2017, she selected yes for required to file and left it blank for taxes filed and then, after printing, add in handwriting "See explanation on separate page".

I'm not sure about the secondary school certificate but feel that as long as the certificate is in English and says that mode of education was english, I think it should be OK. Good Luck!

don't think you have to worry about 2017 as it is not time yet to start filing...I did not mention 2017 in my application at all but again my app was signed as of Dec 2017...

Well said!

It's annoyingly funny and irritating when people who apply in early December start asking why they have not received AOR or those who already got In Process... while some October applicants are still waiting for AOR.
