I have a PCC obtained on 15.12.2017 since I was expecting ITA around that time. But I did not get an ITA as yet.

If I get my ITA around next month and if I submit documents, will CIC reject my application if it expires during the application processing period.

As per IRCC the PCC rules are:

• For the applicant’s current country of residence, the police certificate must have been issued no more than six months before the submission of the e-APR.
• For countries in which the applicant no longer resides, the police certificate must have been issued after the last time the applicant lived in that country.

As per IRCC the PCC should be issued after the last time the applicant visited the country, if its for a country which is not your country of residence. The validity on the document does not matter.

Most delays are due to no one working on the file. CBSA is the one which conducts security and criminality, and it depends on when IRCC sent your file to CSIS and CBSA.

If everything is passed except security, then just give it some time it will be done too.

As regards the medicals, if they are about to expire, then you can raise a CSE and request to extend the medicals. In some cases IRCC will do it on its own or send a request to re-do the medicals.

Thanks for the info. However, I called CIC today and talked to a soft spoken agent Kadeija who told me that my security was passed in July'17. Rest all checks viz., Eligibility, medical, criminality are visible as passed in my GCMS. I asked her that the GCMS shows security as blank and is she sure that it is passed to which she replied in affirmative and told that they aren't updated sometimes. I asked why isn't the file not approved yet and she told thae BGC still in progress. What more apart from the above checks in BGC she didn't know. I asked an I in SS to which she confirmed I can't be as I've passed security.

Can anything be concluded from this conversation? Did she provide authentic info?

I received my PPR today. I had applied from the USA with Ontario nomination. Our daughter is studying in University of Alberta in Edmonton on a Study Permit. I can send my wife's and my passport to CPC Ottawa but I am not sure how to do it for my daughter. Please advise. Thanks again.

Hi @legalfalcon, I'm current on BOWP after my PGWP expired while waiting for a decision on my PR application. My question is when my BOWP expired (which will happening in a few months) and I still haven't get any updates on my PR application, am I still able to apply for another BOWP?

I got my aor 1 year ago and I am still waiting. I applied my GCMS recently and found out that there was a note on March 2017 saying that my foreign education document is not submitted. My education point should 90 not 135.

Should I worry about it? it has been almost 1 year. I have called them serveral times. They said I am under security check and never mention requested file.

What should I do next? Could you please help?

Hi..i need some advise..i received my ontario nomination on 18.01.2018 and the ITA after that. I received a confirmation msg regarding my nomination from CIC. Now i would like to know is this document sufficient for uploading post ITA? Or is there another Nomination Certificate that i will receive from ontario through post that needs to be uploaded? Im really confused ..as i have not received any post from Ontario so far.i reside in Kuwait and am in the process of collecting my documents for submission.

You will receive the certificate by post. Don’t worry you’ll receive it before you submit your e-APR. Also upload Schedule 4.

Hello Legalfalcon,

I just found out after talking to my father today that he tried to apply for permanent residency for Canada where I was included as a dependent and he got a refusal. The refusal came in 2007 according to him. He never mentioned this to me before until I asked him about it today. He also tried to apply again through a lawyer but he has no idea whether his application is submitted or what happened to it.

This is really scaring me because I have been answering the question about visa refusal and such in all my application: study, work, visitor and PR as "No" cause I had no idea. Obviously I sent a CSE again. I am really scared with all this CSE and security being already done I will be rejected for misrepresentation. When you try your best to do it right and this is what happens.

What do you think is going to happen? Will I be rejected?

IRCC changed the Funds requirement (initially 12300 CAD to New 12475 CAD for one person) after I submitted my application. I remember there was a field in the pre-application part which asked about "how much Money would you bring?". In that field I wrote 12310 CAD. What should I do now?

Section 19 states:

19 (1) Subject to subsection (2), the head of a government institution shall refuse to disclose any record requested under this Act that contains personal information as defined in section 3 of the Privacy Act.

Information under this section is retracted when you have a spouse or children in your application, and you do not get the signature of your spouse on the consent form, or you do not fill in section D of the consent of you have children under 18.

This update happened on January 30, 2018. You can amend your answers to meet the latest figures.
