Hi Guys,

For overseas experience, is it mandatory to show all employment reference letter for past 10 years

Or any 3 years only out of last 10 years employment references is required to show.

As I know one of my friend in pool prepared only 3 years employment reference letters out of last 10 years.

Just wanted to get expert opinion.

He gets the maximum CRS points for 3 years of foreign work experience. He is free to only claim those 3 years.

However, if he is a FSW applicant and decides to only claim 3 years of work experience then this could have an effect on his eligibility if he does not meet the required 67 out of 100 points under the six selection factors.

So how many years do FSW applicants have to show as they work experience?

Ok thanks for the quick update. I see two scenarios here.
1. Stage 1 - 67 points and above to apply for FSW, in this need to show 6+ years experience.

2. Stage 2 - Creating EE profile, while you create the profile, the foreign experience required is 3+ years in last 10 years, now if I am not wrong, one has to present employment reference letter for these 3 years only.

Or is it that one has to submit 6 yrs employment reference letter as per Stage 1

Slight confusion here.

They have to calculate their score under the six selection factors and figure that out.

No. In those scenarios if he needs 6 years of work experience in order to be eligible under the FSW program then he MUST prove those 6 years of work experience when he submits his application for Permanent Residency.

Let's say he tries to create a profile with 3 years of work experience and that results in having a lower score under the six selection factors (less than 67) then after submitting his profile he will get an automatic message stating that his profile is ineligible.

Same confusion. Anything more than 3 years experience has no impact on the score. Then why include the other jobs in the EE profile. Nevertheless to be safe i am including all. Concern is reference letter in the prescribed form may not be possible.

It has nothing to do with your CRS rather it has to do with your eligibility. The problem with FSW applicants is that plenty of them have no idea what the six selection factors are in the first place let alone what their score under such factors are.

Ok let me put it this way. Let's say I have 74 points in the initial eligibility check with 6 years of experience. Now if I reduce this to 3 years of experience, I'll still have 72 points. In that case, would I still be eligible if I show reference of only 3 years of work experience?

If you can get 67 or more points by showing 3 years work experience then just submit employment reference letters for these 3 years only.

Just ensure that you cross this 67 mark point too.

Correct.
