It is happening!!!

The FBI will be implementing a new option to electronically submit requests and receive responses for Identity History Summary Checks and Identity History Summary Challenges on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. The new eDO option will allow for faster processing of requests.
OMG, I so want to try it out.

Just wanted to update you all on my timeline! I was pretty nervous because I didn't do tracking and only did one set of prints.

Package mailed to FBI on 10/03/2017 (Mailed from Nebraska)
Received by FBI on 10/06/2017
Credit Card Charged on 01/19/2018 and FBI Background Check completed same day.
FBI Background Check mailed out 01/22/2018
FBI Background Check received 01/25/2018

The funny thing is.... I just received the extension today from CIC. They extended the due date until 02/24/2018. Here's the back story if anyone else has a similar experience or has questions. On 11/09/17, I received the message in GCKEY that CIC requested the Medical Exam to be done and the FBI Background Check. The background check was due on 12/17/17. I did the medical exam right away, but I knew that I wouldn't receive the FBI Background Check until January sometime. I uploaded the typed explanation in GCKEY that same day and waited. I heard nothing back, so I did a case specific inquiry on 12/13/17 and asked if the letter I provided was acceptable, as the document was due in a few days. They still never got back to me.... I was kind of getting a little worried because I heard of other people getting extensions pretty quickly.

Another issue was that GCKEY wouldn't let me upload another document and I knew that the FBI would be sending the document pretty soon. On 1/23/2018 I took screenshots, showing that there isn't a way to upload the background check... then a couple days later I receive the actual extension. At the bottom it states, "Please send the document/s information to the address lifted below" (CPC Mississauga). "For faster service, you may send the requested information/document(s) via the Case Specific Enquiry form.

Sorry for the huge response! I just knew I always had a ton of questions and wanted to help out with anyone else on this forum.

What date format to use for the DOB section on the FBI application form? For single digit birth date and month, how would they know which two digits are for for the month and which which two are for the day ? This is assuming the DOB written in mm/dd/yyyy format. For example 6th Feb would be 02/06/yyyy.

Also I received my ITA yesterday, would you recommend that I send my documents to FBI now or wait for their electronic system to go live on 1st Feb and then submit my FBI PCC electronically?

I did month/day/year. I'm not sure what I would do on your second question post though..

Well it's usually the best to do double digits...for example June 1, 2018 would l be 06/01/18 or December 22, 2018 would be 12/22/2018. Sometimes people just put 6/1/18, but for documents and stuff, it's better to add the 0.

I meant to ask whether you have single digit month and day as birth month and date. For example 4th February would be 02/04 in mm/dd format and 13th February would be 02/13. In the 2nd scenario, it is very easy to figure out which two of the four digits are for the month and which two are for the day. First example of 02/04 can be confusing, since the first or the last two can be both be a month and day.

Since you used month/day/year format, I just wanted to double check with you and find out if you have single digit month and day (like 2nd Feb, 1 May etc) as birth month and date.

Its about travel history..i have seen people with long travel history and/or with some error in their travel history getting it...in my case, i guess they asked due to my long travel history so they asked me for it again...and in simply provided it...but so far it is not big issue..
Thanks for your response.. last question, do we need to provide all travel details from origin country to country of residence? Or just the travels outside country of residence and origin is required? I am currently staying in USA for a long time and my origin country is India.. But i have visited NL few times.. Do i just mention the NL travel dates or all travel dates from India to USA also?

Does anyone has any idea how we would have to submit fingerprints for eDO ? I was planning to get FD-258 ink-roll based fingerprints done tomorrow but now I am not sure if I should get paper based fingerprints.

You should call the FBI for clarification. Thy're we responsive to any inquires but my guess is just like the current facility for American citizens or GC holder you will have to visit one of their Approved Channelers for finger printing.

Go and get them done tomorrow. Governmental IT systems never kick off without severe problems. Remember Obamacare portal?
