Hi all,

I have arrived in Canada as PR in Sept 2017. I have also found a job and have been working as manager for past 2 months. I need to sponsor my spouse for her PR. However, the checklist asks for Notice of assessment or Proof of income statement. I tried to create CRA account, but was unable to as I haven't filed for taxes as yet. My employer told that T4 will be available by february and once you file will get processed by 2weeks. The NOA and Income proof may take another month. Can I not apply for my wife's PR on the basis of the letter of employment alone? And explain to the IRCC that I cannot produce NOA or income proof (Option C) now?

Please tell me your suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Hi

The answer is stated right on the checklist.

If you cannot provide a Notice of Assessment or a Proof of Income Statement (Option C) for the most recent taxation year, you must
provide an explanation on a separate sheet of paper.

Given that you only just landed a few months ago, they will be very understanding as to why you cannot provide the NoA. As stated above, a letter of explanation will suffice.

finally how did it work for you? you only submitted the employment letter?
Or did you show other docs as well? e.g. bank account statements/balance?
