Hello all,

I currently live in the states. I currently live with my parent due to the fact that I have not been able to care for myself financially. I recently got a job which as of now gives me maybe 4 4hr shifts a month, it is not enough to support myself on my own so I continued to stay with my parent.

She recently informed me that I would be kicked out of the home despite being unable to care for myself financially. I currently am almost completely deaf, with mental conditions including depression/anxiety/panic disorder. As of the past few month also chronic back and hip pain causing nerve damage.

From a few things I've been able to find here in the states, I could possibly qualify for SSI, but I am uncertain about housing. I have a cousin who lives in Vancouver, WA who has citizenship in Vancouver, BC but I am unsure if I could use her as a sponsor. My home situation has been nothing, but mentally, financially and emotionally abusive. I don't exactly mind that this person has gotten 'fed up' with my disabilities despite her doing nothing to help me, and wanting me to leave but I would like to move to Canada in hopes that things could improve.

Is there a way I could immigrate under a compassion type thing in hopes to either work or study in Canada?

Your cousin would be unable to sponsor you. Apart from not living in Canada at present, if she has any other family members in Canada, she wouldn’t be eligible even if she was in country. The other issue would be medical inadmissibity related to your list of ailments. The government would assess your medical needs and if they anticipate they will exceed $6500/yr for the next 10 years, they would likely refuse the application.

I have no other family I could rely on? I haven't found any kind of assistance here that could help me live on my own financially? This place isn't meant for people who even need a little bit of help?

Can't I even get in on compassion? due to the abuse that I've suffered?

Unfortunately, I don’t believe there are compassionate grounds for entry for you. With the exception of spousal sponsorship, the immigration stream available all take medical inadmissibility into consideration. Being a US citizen, a refugee claim has near zero chance of being approved and would likely be refused as immigration of convenience. Because the social programs in Canada are tax payer funded, they consider if the applicant is going to contribute more than they draw from the system. Based on your post, I don’t see much chance of you overcoming that restriction.

You will need to look into what support is available for you in the US. Canada is not an option for you at this time.

Your cousin cannot sponsor you.

You don't qualify for the Canadian Humanitarian and Compassionate stream. If you try, it's guaranteed you will be refused - 0% chance of success. No - the abuse you have suffered does not qualify you for this program. There are also plenty of social assistance programs available in the US for individuals such as yourself. You simply don't meet the requirements.

Your only options would be to qualify through an economic immigration stream which requires you to have work experience, complete language test, have over $10K in funds to establish yourself in Canada, in some cases requires a job offer, and has other program requirements you would have to meet. Or alternatively, if you ended up marrying a Canadian or entering into a common law relationship with a Canadian (common law means you have lived together continuously for at least one full year) - that person can sponsor you for PR.

Entry on compassion grounds (a.k.a. Refugees and asylum seekers) are based on people who are displaced by war or civil conflicts, not domestic abuse. You should seek social assistance in US.

Economic class and (I believe) spousal sponsorship will require medical admissibility checks, which based on your multiple ailments probably renders you inadmissible.
