And yes CNIC/NICOP of male member doesn't show its Marital status on itself, but has everything/ all data embedded in them.

can you tell me what i should do, im already in Canada and i already have a NICOP, my nikkahnama and everything was registered in Nadra, now if my wife wants to change her last name and change her CNIC to show husband name, can she go to nadra and get it done or do i need to be there?

I am not sure if this is necessary to be done while she is in Pakistan? I haven't changed my wife last name as my name. I thought i can do it here in Canada once she arrives here with her immigration? I think we have the option of changing our name in Canada OR else it should be done in Pakistan? Then if we arleady applied for her immigration then all new documents (CNIC/Passport) copies should be send to LVO ASAP?

Change her last name or not is your and your wife's choice. But changing Marital status is a must. So yes go to these steps, if you have any problem you can inbox me anytime you want.
Go to http://id.nadra.gov.pk
Modify id card.
Pay online.
Fill out the form. Change marital status.
Print it. Do finger/thumb prints. Scan the form. And submit.
You can save the application and can fill out whenever you want. That's the best part.

IMO i would prefer to change the name and status while spouse is in pakistan so when she gets here her documents and everything such as health card etc are made with the new name from the get go instead of having to go through change name once in canada cuz then you have diff name on Pakistani passport and diff name on canadian documents

after changing her name on her CNIC and then on New Passport, would that be ok to send her new docs (Certified CNIC & Passport Copies) to LVO?
Won't it delay the immigration process? Not really sure if LVO officer would please to see these changes now?

i asked about this before and got a reply from one person on this form who said they did exactly this and there were no issues. have googled about it a bit too and have not found negatives on it. i am waiting for my file to be sent to LVO and then my wife will go update her CNIC and passport and send the new scans to LVO

OK, so I have an update (not really) on our file...

My wife contacted the MP to help us out, we've been waiting for over 17 months now and all she did was tell us that we'll now have to wait until Mid-Feb and if nothing by then, to contact her again.

These MPs and all of these people have no set deadline, so don't go by what they say.

The last time, she told us to wait until the end of this year, and now that it's almost the end of year, she's told me to wait until Mid-Feb...I'm so pissed off rn...

Just posting this to kind of vent and to tell you guys to never go by what they say. They're always gonna find something new to say/new excuses. ALWAYS.

You should try contacting a different MP. Mine gives more detailed info about what stage they're on. Or at least order notes, since it's been more than 17 months

Alhamdulillah we have finally received our notes, thanks to applying a second time. They're quite confusing and repetitive, but the officer's comments show that they're very satisfied that the relationship is genuine. Eligibility and criminality has passed, so all that's left inShaAllah is security and re-medical (our medical expired 10 days ago). Hopefully we don't have much longer to go!

You don’t need to be present there to change your wife marital status. Your wife only need Nikkah Nama and marriage certificate and few more documents. My husband change his marital status (Nicop) easily from Canada.

We only submitted NN and showed our previous CNIC. What else do you mean by "few more documents"?
