Last year I was on a caught smoking in public and the police caught me. I was not arrested. I went willingly in the taxi to pay the fee at police station(₹200). At the police station an constable took down my name and address. And then he made me sign a chargesheet( i think it was a chargesheet I have never seen one previously) it stated that I was in violation of COTPA act section 4. I was then told to pay ₹200 as compounding fee and I got a receipt for my payment. I asked do I have to go to court for any extra procedure the police inspector said no and the matter is closed and won't show up anywhere. Now I am about to request a police clearance certificate will this unfortunate incident show up on the PCC for Canada visa. It's a very unfortunate incident and I have not smoked since that incident. I have no police record other than this and I don't want this small isolated incident hamper my chances for a visa. I'm also thinking of studying in Canada in future and maybe for a PR. Please help me if you can. P.S.The chargesheet was not filed in my area of residence.
Thank you.
