Yes it is required but for dependants, regardless if they come or not, and medicals too as well as pcc if they are adults

Hi Erica, I have the same questions!! The Document Checklist on page 4 ask for "Birth certificates for all family members, whether they are accompanying you to Canada or not", but to me sounds like Dependants and not all the Family members listed on "Additional Family Information".

The Glossary says:
Family members
An applicant’s closest relatives, in the context of an application to CIC. It is defined as a spouse or common-law partner, dependent children, and their dependent children.

Now I'm considering that I don't have to send my married daughter or my parents' docs. I hope I am right and I'm looking forward to having my translations next week and send my package!!

Talking about the pictures, I'd rather print them out in a "Photo Center" just to make sure they are not going to be faded or stained.

I wish you the best of luck!

There is a difference between family members and additional family members. That's why their information is requested in a separate form.

Neither your married daughter (not dependent child any more once she is married or becomes common law) nor your parents are your family members. So you DO NOT need the birth certificate of them.

Hey!

Thanks for the information. Are you doing it inland or outland?
