Hi,

I have visited the US three times. First was for tourism and the other 2 were for studies. During my studies I visited India for 1-2 weeks for holiday and meeting my parents. Should I mention those trips as well in the section where they ask the travel history?

Thanks
~FP

Yes- however, please take note they explicitly state they don't need details on travels between your home country and residence.

Its whilst you fill out the form post-ITA.
Ah Okay. On my post ITA form page it just says -- "Provide details of any trips FP has taken outside his/her country of origin or of residence in the last ten years (or since his/her 18th birthday if this was less than ten years ago). Include all trips: tourism, business, training, etc."

I believe there is another line that says excluding trips to home country/country of residence- unsure whether it was in parentheses?

Here's the whole thing --
"Provide details of any trips FP has taken outside his/her country of origin or of residence in the last ten years (or since his/her 18th birthday if this was less than ten years ago). Include all trips: tourism, business, training, etc.
You can tell us about each trip by filling in the fields below.
Check the list at the bottom of the form first to see the information you have already saved.
• When you click "Save and Add", each trip will be saved to the list.
• The fields will go blank to let you add another trip.
• Use the modify or delete button if you want to change a trip that you have already saved to the list.
Has FP, and if applicable, FP's family members taken any trips outside their country of origin or of residence in the last ten years (or since their 18th birthday if this was less than ten years ago). Include all trips: tourism, business, training, etc. (required)"

So there you go- it explicitly states in the 1st line !
It says country of origin or of residence. In my opinion if you are studying or working abroad then that becomes your country of residence for the period that you were there so everything should be included if the travel is within the last 10 years.

Home country trips should not be included is not mentioned explicitly at any point.

I guess I am mistaken in understanding their context and language. When it says "outside his/her country of origin or of residence", I am thinking they mean they want to know every time I left either my current residence in the US or my home residence in India and went out of the country. :/

Just fill out everything, mate ! This resolves the fiasco hopefully.
