Guys, anyone facing delays with GCMS notes requests?

I’m not sure if the problem is from getgcms, London VO or the GCMS retrieval system in general. I ordered gcms notes from getgcms 3 times. In the first time my file was still in Sydney, Nova Scotia and I received them exactly on the 30th day. The second time my file was just transfered to London VO and also I got them on the 30th day exactly. A couple weeks after I received my second set, I ordered a third set and now it’s been 41 days and I haven’t received them yet. Please do let me know if you get any more feedback on this from other threads you might be part of.

GCMS notes have to be released within 30 days from the day on which the request is filed as mandated by the Access to Information Act. However, GCMS notes can be delayed due to the following:

1. Administrative reasons - The office which has the file, has to release and give a clearance before the notes are released. Some VOs are slow and take forever to release information.

2. Withholding - IRCC can withhold the release of GCMS notes under s16 of the Access to Information Act. This happens when there is an ongoing investigation, which if released will compromise it. Or the applicant has been called for an interview, and IRCC does not want to disclose the reasons for the interview or other similar reasons.

3. Processing - In some cases the application will be processed by external agencies. When the application is with an external agency, they may take time to give the clearance.

IRCC does not disclose why the GCMS notes are withheld or delayed. IRCC is sluggish in responding to any requests. However, I can assure you that GET GCMS, has the best response time, and has means to escalate the issue within IRCC to the corporate division ATIP division, ICC, etc. to obtain the notes. However, despite these measures, the GCMS notes in rare cases are delayed, which is beyond anyone's control and the sole prerogative of IRCC.

Eventually your notes will be released, its is just a matter of time. From personal experience, I can say that the delay is frustrating, but it is IRCC which does delay it in rare cases.

I have faced a similar problem. Applied 2-3 times and all notes initially were delivered within 30 days. But as the application was transferred, my set was delayed and for once I through it was because of GET GCMS. So I applied from visa file which was my biggest mistake.

At least GET GCMS filed status query requests with IRCC, visa file, just stopped responding to my emails.

I finally received my GCMS notes after a delay of 90 days and only because finally GET GCMS filed a complaint with the information commission of Canada. What my theory is that my file reached the LVO and then went into SS, that is what delayed it. But, I have seen similar delays being faced by other white are in Canada and filed directly.

Its IRCC to blame. My file is still under process and every time I raise a CSE, all they say is its within standard processing time, even after 9 months.

But you should contact GET GCMS and they will promptly let you know. Also no harm in asking @legalfalcon

Hope you get you notes soon.
Thanks for sharing your experience. What stage if your application at now?

Hi @legalfalcon ,

My husband is the primary applicant and for proof of funds we are planning to show FDs in my name (I am accompanying him), FDs in his name, Mutual Funds as well as EPF balance for him.

His company maintains EPF in a private trust. Are there any specific things that we should be mentioning in our LoE towards the EPF balance since it is a private trust maintained by the company, instead of the EPFO?
There is nothing specific. All you need is a proof of where the fund is, and that the PA has the absolute authority to withdraw and use the money. Further, that the funds are unencumbered and there is no outstanding loan against them.

For specific PoF requirements see

Hi

Thank you for replying me.

So I can visit my homeland after 1 year for family occasion, it won't have any issues in my application.

Also if I declare an amount which I don't have now but will have in future will it be an issue? If I don't declare now when I am landing first if I bring money afterwards will it be an issue?

Regards
New123
No. To maintain your PR status you just have to comply with the minimum period prescribed.
I am not sure when you say amount, are you referring to the eAPR or the PoF at landing.

To read on PoF see https://www.getgcms.com/blog/proof-funds-requirement-express-entry/

I can't agree more. So, based on what you said above, can I assume that the fewer the number of entries under the activity section of the GCMS notes are, the better it is? Also, how many entries are normal for an application approved without delay?
As per trends, most applicants will see 4 entries before the application is approved. However, some see fewer, but no one has seen more than 4. I do not rely on these claims as this is based on anecdotal evidence.

If your application is within 6 months processing time, there is no need to worry. Please remember that the 6 months processing time starts from the day when the R10 is passed, and NOT when AoR is received or the application is submitted.

If you have worked for the government, or have an extensive travel history to some concerning destinations, or come from a country which is know for harbouring undesirable elements, your application may land in extensive security screening.

Hi ! Legal Falcon.. Here's my situation:

Aor: May 17, 2017
MP: August 08, 2017
IP1: August 08, 2017
IP2: November 15, 2017 (never saw NA2)

My File is currently processed at London Visa Office
RPRF Request exactly on my 6th month: November 17,2017. I was also asked to submit height and eye color details and biopage of our passports.
Paid RPRF and uploaded requirements on same day : November 17,2017.

How long is usually the interval before you get PPR after the RPRF payment.

My BG status is already in IP2. Is my file in current good standing and is PPR already imminent?

Thank you for your feedback.
There are a few things which you should know.

1. 6 months processing time - The 6 months processing time starts when the R10 of the completeness check is passed, and not when the application is submitted, or when the AoR is issued.

2. IP, IP2, NA - these are misnomers and in immigration law there is no such terminology. People started using it and correlate with the stage of an application, which is absolutely incorrect. There has been a growing trend of speculation where change of status on MyCIC has been attributed to eligibility being passed, etc. The whole NA, IP IP2 is speculation and has no bearing on determining which stage your application is at. While any change of status is a good sign, but merely relying on NA and IP is not the correct way.

Most applicants will find it irrelevant, as their applications will be processed and approved within the first 3-4 months. It is those who wait for more than 4 months, where things go crazy as they keep relying on NA, IP etc, and see no movement or progress. Many other are stuck on so called IP2, and the PPR never seems to come.

So put these speculative theories to rest. As per the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, regulations and the ministeral instructions every application goes through the following stages:

R10 (Completeness check)
Medicals
Criminality
A11.2 Eligibility (The most important stage)
Security

To read more on each stage click here. While most applicants will not need to go this deep, but for those who have concerns about the application or it is taking too long should see which stage they are at. Also, the only way to determine the stage is by GCMS notes. To read more on GCMS notes, see the thread here.

3. Visa office - There has been a growing trend on people trying to find which VO their file is it. This is the biggest stupidity. It does not matter which VO your file is at. I started a thread on this issue which you can read. - https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/busting-myths-and-best-practices-for-app-tracking-monthly-whatsapp-ita-help-groups.522118/

4. RPRF - Any movement in the application is a good sign. However, just because you receive RPRF payment request, DOES NOT necessarily mean that your eligibility is passed. In some cases even when the eligibility is recommended passed, or has review required the RPRF request is sent.

No one can predict how long with it take. If you have cleared eligibility, the chances of rejection decrease considerably, and only the security is left, which differs for different applicants.

hi @legalfalcon , do we need to inform on job job change, i applied from outside canada and recently change job, i have an experience of over 10 years in the same NOC i claimed points i.e. working from 2003 in the same profession. is it necessary to inform them?
Yes, you should inform IRCC if you leave your job or change it. It does not impact your application, however, it does help IRCC know that you do not work with the current employer.

To report change of job you can do that through - https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx

Hi Friends,

I have a query, 15 days back I called the cic helpline form India and the agent told me Congratulations your profile is Approved, since then I have not seen any update on my profile neither received any emails for next actionable steps.

I yesterday saw : Review of additional documents "The additional documents you provided have been uploaded"

However I have not provided any additional documents, I am confused should I be Happy or Concerned

Seek your guidance.
If your application is approved, it is a good news. As regards the status on MyCIC, do not be concerned about it, its a technical glitch.

After an application is approved, it takes a few weeks to get the PRR as a final review has to be done.

hi
The passport of my wife and son are renewed before PPR.I am currently at IP 1 .Am I supposed to inform CIC about the new passports or wait for the PPR and if I have to inform them then Pls suggest the process.
You have to inform IRCC of the new rented passports and send them the scans of the biographical pages of the PP. This will help you in two ways:
1. Your PR visa will not be impacted
2. You will not have to worry after you receive your PPR.

You can report the renewed PP through the CSE - https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx

Thank you for advising. But my security says not started in gcms notes. Additional Rcmp doc was requested & i did submit in a week. Is this rcmp additional doc, that they are referring to as additional verifications?
Please advise & thanks for always suggesting to questions!
The PCC, including RCMp is a part of criminality and not security. As soon as it is verified, your security will start, and this could be the additional verifications. But to be sure you need to look into your GCMS notes.

Hello Legal Falcon,

I have submitted my ITA and got the AOR on the same day, 23rd Nov. 2017.

I just realized I had missed out the following documents though:

1) Old passport was not attached which had stamps of travel history. I only uploaded the active one.

2) I attached the bank statement from 1st of June 2017 to 20th November 2017, is this gonna be enough as it is not completely 6 months?

Can these lead to any problems? If yes, then how can I do the needful to avoid any issues?

I would really appreciate your help here, please.

Thanks.
1. Old PP is not a required document, but is recommended if you have arrival and departure stamps. Also, you can send it not via CSE - https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx

2. For the PoF, you have to show the 6 months average balance. If you do not, it is not a ground for rejection, but depends on the officer reviewing your application. Re read more on PoF see https://www.getgcms.com/blog/proof-funds-requirement-express-entry/

You can send a replacement document or clarify the situation via CSE, link provided above.

It takes a few weeks to process your PP and issue visa and CoPR. There will no no changes to your application. Only when the visa is issued, will you see a change of status on MyCIC.

Once a visa is issued to you, you have to land before it expires, then you can return back. To read more on landing see

Dear @ legalfalcon, I know that both my spouse and I are under SS. Today, I just got my gcms notes, and noticed that on the second page, under "assessment" section, it shows "info sharing: complete" which is not shown in any previous notes. What does it mean? Could you please advise? Thank you.
