It does not matter.
All you have to do is apply for extension of your work permit ON the day your work permit expires. If it is expiring on January 30th, then apply for extension on same date ONLY if you dont receive the ITA before your work permit expires.
If you get ITA before your work permit expires then GREAT. If not, just apply for extension. Once you submit your application, you are automatically put on implied status. You can show the confirmation letter as evidence to your employer. That way, you will at least be able to buy more time while continue to work for a few months up till your application gets processed and hopefully during that time period you can get your ITA as well.
Thanks again for your response! Hmmm... I'm not entirely sure i am abe to apply for an extension of my current visa though as it is a working holiday visa for 2 years only. So rather, i need to apply for an open work permit, and it is my understanding that i would need to have an AOR to be able to this. That is why im worried!
