Quick what is considered one week in working hour?

After every 7 days, for example lets say you started working today for any employer , monday , then you cannot work more than 20 hours till Sunday(Monday-Sunday), example 2, another person starts working on wednesday for any employer ,then his cycle would be(Wednesday-tuesday)
What happens if we cross 20 hours a week? I hear it's okay if you do it once like 23. But if you keep doing it you will be deported
What I have been hearing since long is that you can work little more than 20 hours ,but at the end of year , average should be 20 hours per week. but, preferably you should not consistently work more than 20 hours. Once in a while its ok , because otherwise your average will go >20 which is then could be a problem.
Ah okay, just cause of black Friday, it touched 21 hours.
But other than that, I have worked less than 18 a week, including just 5 hours this week..so I think I'll be safe.
