Hi everyone, I am planning to go for a BSc program. Just wanted to know if I drop a semester without a valid reason will it affect my PGWP. I found in this forum that after 90 days the university will inform that I am no longer attending school so CIC will cancel my study permit. I will have to apply for a new permit. Is it going to be troublesome to apply for a new permit? Thank You.

To qualify for a PGWP your studies have to be continuous - meaning you have to study with no unplanned breaks. If you take an unplanned break, there is a good chance CIC may refused your PGWP.

What if the scenario is like this.
Someone has a valid study permit from Sep 2016 to July 2018. He did not make it in Sep so he start a new program from January 2017 to Aug 2017 then transfer to other school later on and start on Sep. He decided that the education is not to his liking so he drop the course from May-Aug.
Is it considered a scheduled break since base on [http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/students/work-off-campus.asp] a students must hold full-time status during the academic session prior to, as well as subsequent to, their scheduled break?
He do not want to finish the course since he felt that its a waste of money and he is already enrolled for the September intake. He cannot start studying because it opens in September.
