Language of Instruction

It sounds weird but I thought to get opinion from the forum members.

I did my masters in 2004. I have received the letter from my university stating that the "Medium of instruction is English" instead of was

Does it make any difference?

"is" is right..."was" would have meant the University has closed down or the course has been stopped.

On a side note, My wife is not very fluent in English, but she can speak English to get by. Her vocabulary is not very rich. Is it going to be a problem for her in the interview. She already has a score of 5 in LINC.

I saw it in the application instructions "you must also include a letter from the academic institution indicating that the language of instruction was in English or French along with an official translation of the original document."

By sending the letter which states "is" instead of "was" can be interpreted that currently the language of instruction is english. It means that there could be a possibility that during the time when the course was done, the language of instruction might not be english because the word "was" not used.

What do you say?

Just prepare your wife for the interview so that she can speak well (for interview purpose). I know that the Interviewer does check whether the person is capable of speaking english or not.

Two things that are worrying me are her ability to pass the test and English fluency at the interview. She does get by speaking English though and has a job.

Practice makes a man perfect. Make her study a lot of online citizenship exams and highlight important info/dates in the study book.

I know she would be fine. Its just a matter of practicing.

I need a similar letter from my college/ University saying the medium of language of my Bachelor of Engineering was in English.
Do you know or have any sample/ template for such letter ?
If yes, can you provide that and if no, any pointers on how and where to find such a template ?
