Hi all,

I've been reading a bit lately on this forum and on a facebook group about people whose applications stay at cpc mississauga and get processed crazy fast, like 2-3 months total. What do people know about this? Is this just for people who are sponsoring their spouses from the UK? Has anyone from the US had this happen?

Thanks!

Ours took 28 days for their acknowledgement. If you check the processing times, the average days for sponsorship approval from application is 55 days. They may respond quickly at mississauga but it still depends on the respective visa offices of the one being sponsored. Check your processing time at your respective visa office.

There's some us applicants as well.
No one knows who and why are kept held in mississauga but is faster for sure.

Is that something you've learned from paying attention to the 2015 outland spreadsheet?

There was a back log so Mississauga kept some of the applications and processed them both at the same time. No rhyme or reason why some was kept and others sent to there V0. At this moment most of the U.K. applicants seems to be being sent to London again.

I see... we're US applicants so I'm just asking because I'm curious if there's any chance ours might be kept there. I doubt it but I guess we'll see when I get AOR or SA.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but is Mississauga still a fast processing office?

My application is in Missisauga VO since March 22, 2017.....still nothing, and ZERO updates. Cut and dried sorta case too, I am American, husband sponsoring and he is Canadian.

But several March and April have DM and PPR, it's really unpredictable.

True. Some May Mississauga applicants also already got PPR. It's all over the place.
My communication with CIC was completely broken so I wonder how many of those cases are not also a result of miscommunication...

it's super sad! The wait is unbearable as you all know. I need to travel home to see my mother, as she is very ill....was hoping to get PR before my next return so I could use the same trip to bring my belongings, but that isn't going to happen. Going to have to risk the trip anyways...then come back and wait for more! Ridiculous! not a single correspondence and no way to contact anyone. We sure pay a lot of money to have zero contact...and a crappy website that never updates!

Do you have your notes? As an American citizen there should be no issued crossing the border or have you had issues in the past?

I don't know anything about "notes"....but from what I've read....I order notes and a year later they would come?!? Yes, I've been stopped several times, my husband has been stopped several times. My worry is I currently have a VR that expires in April 2018, of course I will bring it with me on my trip home, but it's always up to them to allow back in.....will they make my trip less time than April, or a new 6 months? I've been in Canada 2 years on VR with legal status. My mum is too ill to wait any longer, so I have no choice. :(

You can order GCMS notes to understand what is the situation of your application, these take on average 30 days. This will tell you the actual situation of the file at the time the notes are generated.

Why have you been stopped several times, what is the motive driving CBSA officers to do that? I don't know what VR is, a visitor type of visa? Visa exempt countries normally get 6 months every time they visit but it's always up to the discretion of the officer at the border, it can be shorter. Showing reason to return is always good to show CBSA officers. If you have another type of VISA this may not apply.
