DUI sponsor inland

I am a Canadian Citizen sponsosoring my housband who is here in Canada on a visitors visa. He has a DUI in Spain which he was convicted and completed his community hours. How will this affect his application which is currently being processed , will they deport him? I AM SCARE

When did he complete his community hours? He's inadmissible to Canada for five years from that date.

May 10, 2015 he completed his community hours. He has been here on a visitor visa extension, we got married I applied for sponsorship and now they asked for his criminal record and his record is showing the DUI.

Unfortunately I agree with the above. He's inadmissible until 2020 and can't apply for rehabilitation until the five years have passed.

I would start looking into living together in his country until 2020. That's really your best bet since the inland application is guaranteed to be refused.

I assume that means the next request for visitor status extension would also be refused, since the DUI is now on the record with IRCC?

That's what I would expect would happen.

They can try applying for a TRP to allow him to remain in Canada longer as a visitor. I have no idea what the chances of success would be or how long he would be given.

Doesn't seem like it was sent in, but given they would need to have it extended over 2 years, this doesn't bode well.
