Hi everyone,

I am new on forum and I believe that this question might of been answered already but just would like to confirm .

I took my photos at shoppers drug mart and they stamp them on the back where apparently "guarantor" should sign to confirm that I'm person on photos but I cant find that requirement written nowhere.

Only thing I did is that I wrote my

That is the wrong stamp. You need the stamp with only the address and name of the studio. The stamp they have used for you is for passport.

did the specs ask for guarantor ? That’s the proof

BS .. i think you guys are spreading false information ..

Here are the relevant lines ..
  • Provide the name of the photographer or the studio, the studio address and the date the photos were taken on the back of the photos
  • Print the name of the person on the back of the photos
the stamp has the studio name, address and date .. guarantor is irrelevant when you're dealing with a business ..
Applicant's name should be on the back ..which the OP has done ..

If you are taking about photo after receiving PPR:

"*The back of one (1) photograph must:
- bear the name and date of birth of the subject, as well as the name and complete address of the photography studio
- bear the date the photograph was taken
- the photographer may use a stamp or handwrite this information. Stick-on labels are unacceptable.
"

If not please specify which photos you are talking about.

I'm talking about photos for Citizenship Application

Well, I went and had my photos taken yesterday for my upcoming citizenship application, but, somewhat disconcertingly/worryingly, the shop clerk doing them for me seemed a bit confused by there being new CIC/IRCC requirements. Firstly, she could only find new changes to the rules for children's photos, which didn't help us as I'm an adult (although some people do say I never grew up, lol), then she announced that the new citizenship photo requirements must therefore be exactly the same as those for applying for a Canadian passport. Is this totally accurate at this stage? Are our citizenship application photos to be just the same as those needed by Canadians applying for a passport?

Yes, I saw that before, and I did try to show her that on my smartphone, but she insisted on looking stuff up for herself so that she said she could find the latest info. If she's right, then why doesn't CIC/IRCC just plainly say that the requirements are the same as for a passport? God save me from nasty politicians, dense bureaucrats, and stubborn shop clerks, hehe.

Mine was for citizenship. I took at Costco and I even measure it at home there was a guarantor. I sighed. Don't be so anxious about these stuff. I even signed my PR renewal. I got in my pr renewed in a very short period, although I have been to many countries.
