Hey everyone,

I have opened an EE profile last month, and our current score is 425.

I have a question in regards to the POF. My father gave me an amount of $15,500 as a gift to support me to apply for EE.
I already have the money in my account, and it was sent last week.
I'm working on increasing my score by re-submitting the IETLS, so I'm expecting an ITA soon hopefully!
However, my 6-months bank account statement is going to show the big boost of my balance, so I guess I need to get a gift deed letter from him!

So my question is, there are too many different forms that I've found online, so, is there a specific form I need to use or it just needs to explain that the money is a gift and I'm free to use it and I'll never have to pay it back?
And, should I notarize the gift deed or just let my dad sign it?

P.s. My father has a PR, and he currently resides in Ontario.
Thanks

Just a signed gift deed is enough. I did it and was not asked for anything else.

I used the format mentioned in this post.

I didn't even bother getting a gift deed, a self-declaration in plain paper + proof of transfer was sufficient.

Thank you for your reply!

Can I ask you what papers did you provide to get a "sufficient proof of transfer"?
I can provide my bank account statement, and I have the receipt of the transfer that my father got when he issued the transfer. Will I need to provide more stuff? Maybe a bank statement of my father's account to show the transfer is going out? Or that won't be necessary?

Thanks.

A signed letter from your father with all the details of the transfer like date, amount, transaction number etc. + 6 month bank statement + banks letter verifying balance.

Self-declaration letter + my bank statement + bank draft + bank receipt.

That's what I provided.

Thank you guys!

So, for self-declaration letter, I should explain in it that I got the money from my father as a gift, right?.
In addition, do you mean by the bank draft is the bank letter which states the current balance?

Thanks again

The self-declaration letter is written by the donor not you.

The bank draft is NOT a bank letter, please google what it is.

And please excuse my too many questions, I just need make sure to do things in the right way!

Pretty much but it is simply written in plain paper.
