Still waiting and feeling very upset and frustrated. Feel like I have done all I can do. I have called cic many times, and I have emailed CPC Ottawa many times. First note was ordered in August, and received in September showing nothing really valuable to me, background check still in progress. Second note was order on October 1st. Last phone call I made was on Monday, I spoke to a very nice agent. She felt my frustration after I hit my 6 month time frame, she said she would send an email to the case processing center to inquire my case since she noticed there wasn’t any updates after months. Hope their internal inquires would trigger some movements. It makes absolutely no sense why they processed September applicants and sent out PPRs instead of cleaning out the backlogs from February, March, April. Creating a delusion that EE can process their cases in less than a month DOES NOT HELP!!!!
I can understand your frustration.Hope we get PPR email soon. What is your eligibility status in GCMS notes.?

Yes, I am currently working and provided all the paystubs for one-year employment.
Then it shouldn't be a problem. I just showed those + my bank statements for last 6 months.

Forgot the mention two important dates in my GCMS note received in mid-September.

  1. 2017-05-02 Medical passed. All required documents were checked complete. File was transferred from Centralized Intake Office to CPC Vegreville.
  2. 2017-07-19 File was transferred in patch applications from CPC vegreville to Centralized Intake Office. Reason is Workload (re)-distribution. In the same day, the file was again transferred from Centralized Intake Office to CPC Vegreville.

Which means from May to August, my file was not touched. If you have the same time line, we are in the same files patch.

possible reason is our agent was off for vocation in summer, so he/she sent the works that he/she didn't finish back to CIO and let CIO re-assign to somebody else to finish them. It could be any reason which wont show on the notes. The worst thing could happen is that every time an agent couldn't finish his/her assigned work, they send it back for re-distribution, and waiting time for us will start over and over again from square one. This is just some of my thoughts, I hope I am wrong.

My AOR is for April 8...
So don't worry....
I was asked for background check and CV...
hopefully soon we receive PPR...

I found this thread as i was panicking as to why i'm not seeing any activity, but after reading the comments here, i'm confident i'm not the only one.

ITA 19th April
AOR 10th June
Request letter RMCP - 6th July
No activity since then.

Current status:
Medical passed (a LONG time ago)
Additional documents are being reviewed
We are processing your background check

This ^^ has not moved for months now. On July 7th, i was request to provide a background check (fingerprints) here in Canada, which is did within 48 hours. So i don't see how that can cause a delay.

Question: are there people from march or even earlier, who have not received PPR yet? I'm just trying to set my expectations here.

PS: I've been in Canada since 2012. I'm currently on an open work permit that expires October 2018.

The least I could do is provide a detailed time line for my application, hopefully it will help re-assure some of you.
I am FSW inland

Received 2 GCMS notes on August 24 and Sept 27: Both notes were identical, showing:
Eligibility :recommended pass
Criminality: not started
Security: not started
Some notes by the officer who assigned the "recommended pass", indicating checking my degrees, letter of experience and confirming the location and contact info of the place I was working at
GCMS notes showed that no one looked at my application since july 4

On Sept 29, My background check was updated. I did not get an e-mail for that:
Background check : We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information

October 6, I got an email requesting Canadian police check for me and my wife, as we have been in canada for more than 6 months

I uploaded them immediately as I had them ready

October 19, on the HOME PAGE of my account, showed the my application is updated, however when I opened the application, nothing was updated

October 20, I got PPR e-mail
Current time line after PPR:

Review of eligibility: We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements
Review of medical results :You passed the medical exam

Background check : We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information. Help
Final decision: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

What i learned throughout the process:
- There is NO one specific way that your application has to follow
- If your application is taking longer than others, it does not mean that there is something wrong. My application was not touched for almost 3 months for no obvious reasons
- The updates of your application on CIC are not that accurate as you can see from my current time line
- You guys are much more helpful than you can imagine, You are impacting others life significantly
I hope you find this post helpful and let me know if you have any questions!

Lots of love!
