Hi, has anyone applied for grant of citizenship urgently? I sent out my application last week to be processed urgently, just wondering if others have done the same in the past and wouldn't mind sharing their timelines here. Appreciated.

A graduate program I am enrolled in requires international residency. I also frequently attend conferences (also academic related) in the States but my passport is expiring.

Some people I know are trying to do that lol. They will ask their work place if they can get a letter that citizenship can help them with their company work somehow. But the chances they process them in urgent queue are slim to none.

This doesn’t make any sense, your original citizenship doesn’t count for international residency?

Not sure how urgent processing is justified. What is your field of study? Can you not travel to those countries with your current passport?

not sure what you are talking about exactly.
They're asking, wouldn't your home country or country of birth count as an international residency? Does't international residency mean having a permanent physical address in another country? In that case wouldn't your PR work just fine? (just asking)

Because you are the expert of deciding who gets to apply for urgent processing? ;)

I see. I was referring to my academic program requirement - an international residency to practice what we learn academically. Nothing to do with Citizenship.

Ok. A friend of mine who did medicine had an international residency. But your response leads me to asking, if it has nothing to do with your citizenship why are you requesting urgent processing?
