Thank you for asking. I have to be in Toronto by the beginning of January. I'm not sure how much earlier we will go. A lot depends on my husband's job situation.

@Ascent , I forgot to say that I'm sorry to hear that your IELTS didn't go well. I can't imagine how many times I will have to take TEF to get as far in french as you have already gotten in english

After the latest IELTS result, our score is up from 400 to 427. We will loose 5 points in November due to the birthday. Now hoping the cut-off score to fall.

Had a question - After getting an ITA if i loose 5 points due to my birthday is the ITA still valid?

Edit: Did a bit of reading, looks like after we get the ITA, loss of points due to age is exempted - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/laws-policy/exempt-applicants-pr.asp

After submitting your eAOR, your Age/IELTS/WES are locked. Just receiving your ITA and you submitting your eAOR after your birthday will make you loose your 5 points.So submit your eAOR at the earliest. Good luck.

The linked article (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/laws-policy/exempt-applicants-pr.asp) mentions that Age should be considered at the time of ITA and not at the time of eAPR.
Yes, even i understood the same. Copying the condition below, highlighting the specific text.

Conditions
Based on the public policy considerations outlined above, delegated officers may grant an exemption from the criteria and obligations found in the provisions listed below to foreign nationals who meet the following eligibility criteria and conditions:

  • The foreign national submitted a permanent residence application after having been issued an invitation to apply pursuant to subsection 10.1(1) of the Act;
  • At the time the officer received their application, the foreign national no longer met sub-paragraph 76(1)(a)(iv) and section 81 of the Regulations because the foreign national’s birthday occurred after the invitation to apply was issued;
Foreign nationals eligible under this public policy are subject to all other criteria and obligations of the Act not exempted under this public policy.

Hey guys.. my friend was expecting her ECA yesterday. Her expected completion date on Wes online was for 25/09. She hasnt got any email nor has the status changed online from 'final review' . She's completely freaking out.

Did anyone have similar experiences where ECA delayed beyond expected date?

Ask her to phone/email WES regarding the same. Should be some pending office work that is causing the delay. It should be sorted out at the earliest. But I would suggest to raise the issue with WES officially at the earliest so that the concerned person would be on the safer end. Good luck.

Yes she's raised the issue on email and contact us button online. She'll call when the office opens in the evening. It's just that she didn't find any case on this forum where Wes was delayed so she's panicking.

Nothing to worry. It will be resolved soon. Ask her to call them in the morning. Good luck.

still better than "your"
Nope. An error is an error. Atleast @Raz0r was gracious enough to accept he was wrong when he posted 'I stand corrected' .you on the other hand were so arrogant and smug that you quoted his apology and decided to repeat the same point again. Just couldn't let go of your ego could you.
