Oh, I have been very honest to myself and to this group. Like I said, money isn't everything to be successful but your positive attitude will take you to a higher altitude.

And sorry to disappoint you if I can't read your thread as I am too busy in the ROH thread patting my friends' back. However, you can tell your friends to come to this thread so I can pat theirs too if Canada had disappointed them. :D
We're the "Backpatters Club" :D

Guys, I'm still catching up on the posts here, but to all of you who might be discouraged about needing 6 Canadian dollar figures to settle in Canada and being relegated to working as poor day laborers, let me spread some hope. I have never lived in Canada, but I have lived in New York for over 8 years. As many of you might know, New York is reputed to be one of the most expensive cities in the world, with very high rents, more expensive than Canada, so I believe I have credibility to speak of saving money in expensive places. I have developed a system here that has enabled me to live more cheaply here than I did in smaller and less expensive US cities. It took some time for me to reach this point, but I started out renting a cheap room in an apartment with several roommates in a gentrifying neighborhood.

I lived very frugally and eventually saved up enough to buy a couple properties, among other things, and no longer had to pay rent, which further cut my expenses and increased my income.

Where there's a will, there's a way, especially if you can be resourceful and think outside the box, and if you team up with optimistic and entrepreneurial ROH-ers!

Oh come on, I summon you!

Both you and I know it and this is the test of your honesty and integrity! Coming to Canada, as a foreigner, from a different continent, emerged in a different language and culture, and with JUST 12k (one person) or 15k (a couple) in a pocket is a suicidal mission. Please, admit it! I am not even mentioning all race/ethnicity issues which should not be playing any role, but unfortunately they may, you never know.

You may be a friendly back-patter here, but there is no chance in hell you would do what many people here plan to do, and you would see things overly bright as many people here do. I know too many Americans to be positive of my claims.

P.S. Subletting is illegal in many countries/states and it should not be encouraged.

Hilarious :D:D!! I wouldn't be surprised if you admit that you are just a teenager (mindset-wise), and never experienced the hardships that a person must in his/her lifetime. You absolutely dread hardships, misery and poverty, don't you? Always looking for greener pastures, aren't you?

What a pity!! I can't stop laughing, when you compare Canada to a milch cow, :D. Do some research, and you'll know that the third world is, in fact, the milch cow. It is from us that the marrow of life is sucked, and finally the residual garbage is hurled onto.

Express entry is for Skilled Workers who can contribute to Canadian economy, and you clearly don't belong here. You just want an interesting place to live in, with your huge savings, in an interesting place where the poor immigrants guard you (as security-guards), serve you delicious food as waiters, get your iPad fixed as skilled technicians, and provide you with finely laundered clothes. Lol, a big lol :D.
Such accurate predictions of my person. You should try Power-ball and I will become your waiter. Go!

See, that's the thing. We no longer play powerball, we now create games like those for teenagers!! :D

PS: Don't take exceptions to my posts, I enjoy doing this once in a while. I, sort of like you, since you are that rare ingredient that cut-offs require for their decline. Enjoy your virtual presence, ignore the quibbles!!

Hi guys I have a question.
I got my ECA done and received the following outcome:

B.com (2009 graduate) = 4yrs Canadian Bachelors
CA Inter India (May 2011) = 1 year college level Certificate.

My NOC is 1311 which does not require to have CA Inter as a qualification / requirement to start working. Hence, I started working in January 2011 and I am claiming full work experience since then. However while filling out EE profile, will the education section & work experience sections dates from Jan 2011 to May 2011 clash be a problem? I can explain in LOE that CA Inter was a distance education course and hence I could work full time while completing it.

Should I go ahead with claiming experience from Jan 2011? My CRS is 472 and I want to get in the pool before tomorrow's draw.
i don't think it will cause a problem if your ECA evaluations gives points for the CA inter degree despite being a distance education or whatever.

Why not claim points for period after you finished CA inter ? 3 years should be enough, right ?

All those who are under the impression that Asians are considered unimportant in Canada ..Please go through this link

http://www.immigration.ca/punjabi-now-third-language-in-parliament-of-canada/

This is what it says

Four years after Punjabi became Canada’s third most common language; it is now also Canadian parliament’s third language after English and French. This observation follows the election of 20 Punjabi-speaking candidates to the House of Commons.

Twenty-three Member of Parliaments of South Asian-origins were elected to the House of Commons, Parliament of Canada on October 19 parliamentary elections. The 430,705 native Punjabi speakers make up about 1.3 per cent of Canada’s population. The 20 Punjabi-speaking MPs represent almost six per cent of the House of Commons.

Of the 20 elected candidates who speak Punjabi, 18 are Liberals and two are Conservatives. Ontario elected 12, British Columbia four, Alberta three and one is from Quebec.

In an interview with recently, Navdeep Bains, a Liberal MP, said although 20 Punjabi-speaking MPs have been elected, these MPs represent all constituents regardless of their party affiliation or ethnic origin.

Now you know where Asians stand in Canada.....:):D:p:p:p

The fact, that the government calls you "skilled", does not mean that Canadian employers will treat you accordingly. In many cases this is not what newcomers have experienced and you definitely should catch up on the "disappointment in Canada" threads.
