IMP!!! Does WES consider MBA in Distance from IMT GHAZIABAD

Greetings All,

Could someone help me with a few doubts -

1) IMPORTANT!! Is MBA from IMT CDL (Centre for Distance Learning) Ghaziabad qualified by WEC?
- ANYONE from IMT who has tried his luck?

2) IF NOT - Could you please suggest some Post Graduate Diploma - 1 year which is
most likely to be considered by WEC?
All suggestions are welcome please!!

3) LASTLY! - Is it legal to pursue/register for PG DIPLOMA (which you guys suggest in point 2) while already being in the 2nd year of my MBA (I have completed 1 year of my 2 yrs course) - INCASE IF MY MBA HAPPENS TO BE NOT APPROVED BY WEC

FYI: I have 1 yr work ex in India which will be 2 yrs by the time my MBA ends in 2017 Dec.

Any other suggestions advice is welcome as well!!

Hi Sunny,

That's good news!

Just wondering why the IMT UNIVERSITY did not show up in the search results when I was trying to get a preliminary (demo) evaluation.

Any ideas/thoughts?

That's what got me confused!

Hi. as far as I know it is only showing the universities or colleagues where it has frequent number of evaluation applications. Many top colleagues in India is not there in the list.

I am also planning to do a PGDM from IMT CDL ? Is the course good ?

Hi Dev,

Although, nothing beats regular MBA; but IMT is certainly the best amongst available alternatives like Sikkim Manipal or any other institutes out there. Study material is the best in class!

Until last few months, they used to have dedicated centres (very good infra and proper lectures by experienced professors) but recently UGC has come up with a new rule stating no university can provide classes outside the geographical area of the head office and hence, classes at IMT head office itself - as not doing so might get it delisted.
But they arrange shuttle services so its convenient.

This notice is for all the universities but if say. Sikkim doesn't follow it (being too remote), it might or might get delisted from UGC but IMT is just playing safe here.


BTW:

I read at the CIC website that MBA need to be in Phramcy, optics etc, otherwise it won't count.
Does that mean MBA in say, marketing won't count at all or it would still count under - two degrees with one of at least 3 years(my bachelor's from DU).

IDEAS?

Hi . I got the following from CiC website. I understand that anything WES evaluates as the following will be considered as masters degree.
ECA assessment results:
Master's Degree
Master's Degree (Taught)
Master of [name of discipline]
Master's degree, specializing in [name of discipline]
Master’s degree with a focus in [area of concentration]
One-year Master’s degree with a focus in [area of concentration]
Two-year Master’s degree with a focus in [area of concentration]
Master of Business Administration
One-year Master of Business Administration degree
One-year Master degree
Master degree


I had also the same question about WES evaluation of IMT CDL degree. I am checking in some other groups also, will update you once I have some info.
