I doubt this is the case. I am from India and currently reside in Dubai. And my file is stuck in IP2 since a month and half. Be patient. The timelines are all based on the VO. And unfortunately, I believe I am from LVO. So the wait is long but definitely will happen. I have seen a lot of people from Pakistan and Egypt get PR and in quick time.

Just relax and I advise you not to think on these discriminatory lines. As you said in your post, you're and talented person and planning to pursue a Phd. Thus thoughts like this are not really progressive I would say.

I concur with Sahil, Shoaib.
Just be patient- and yes, the citizens of the countries that you mention do always end up getting screen more comprehensively.. have you ever wondered as to why that is the case? Look at recent world history...
you need to remember that PR, and citizenship, being offered by another country is a privilege, not a right...
The first and most fundamental aspect of any Governmenti is to ensure safety and security of its people.. and hence, if you have nothing to worry about, just be patient, and let the authorities do their job...

All the best!

People complaining because Canada decides to do few months of security screening should see how long things take in their OWN countries. Remember I am from Iraq too. If they do not want people from those countries coming then how did i get it in 54 days.
I agree PeeGee its not a right, its a privilege. They gotta do what they gotta do, to ensure that new immigrants are clean. I tell you, many applicants from visa exempt countries go through the same screening btw. So my advice is do not look at it from such a narrow perspective.
Or did we not see the problems that happened in few european countries when they opened the gates to refugees, so the good and bad all went in!
Their published timeline is 6 months or less for 80% of applicants, so they did tell you it might take longer. You should see how long it takes in other places. Did you know that Ireland takes over 18 months to issue a visa to the spouse of a british citizen under eea/eu family visa, and passports stay with them during the whole process. You ask for it back, they cancel your application. Thats just 1 example.
Lets have patience guys, if its meant to be, you will eventually get it sooner or later.
Good luck

I would suggest that instead of giving an execuse to IRCC you should give it to applicants waiting with no clue of what is going on with their applications! No specific details or replies from IRCC and the wait is forever especially for US Inlands who deserve to be PR before anyone else from outland! I don't think you would say what you just said if you're stuck at IP2 fro a year or more!

I am not defending anyone. And I totally understand the stress of waiting that long, especially in cases like yours. You know nothing about me, and you know nothing about the waits i had in my life to judge me. I do know how it feels, and your wait is nothing in comparison. But fact is every case is different. And most of the people %€##*ing about it are applicants from june/july/august. I was in the whatsapp group for june and i remember they all got meds pass before me, and they all stayed 1 day only in ip1 when i stayed 2 weeks. Yet when they stay slightly longer in a later stage they go to the moon and back. For what? And I honestly dont like your negativity everytime i try to help someone, sending the fear of god into them instead of being optimistic. Just because you are an inland doesnt mean you deserve it more than us. Maybe thats why its taking long. If you are already dividing and thinking 1 group is better than others. We should change from within before hoping good things come our way. I am done here and i am not talking about this same topic anymore. I have no obligations answering anyone if it wasnt for wanting to help as much as i got help here. I am done and i am approved. I have no benefit and more likes wont go into my bank account.

This is strange you are telling me not to judge you (even though I didn't and your comment was crystal clear) and at the very same time you're telling me that my wait is nothing in comparison to yours! Impressive Dr! How on earth you came up with such a conclusion that my life is easier than yours! I am not going to start talking about my life since it's my LIFE and I am not seeking any empathy for having miserable life! And regarding my negativity that's another impressive and unfair thing since I tried to correct only one or two comments of yours that were not completely true or right! When you wanna help just help and stop talking about it! I am done with you because apparently there is no way we will have a good conversation here with all of your rudeness and judgments on our lives and waits! Good Luck Dr I think Canada needs people like you to change how things work here!
