Okay got a new update.

Earlier when I called the IRCC, the representative confirmed that they are processing photo request application of 25th June, but when I called today they said they are processing photo request applications received on 5th June!

This is so weird, they are not regularly updated with the processing, hence such confusion.

They have no update if the photos were received or not though I sent the same via registered mail which reached them 14th July.

Moreover they ask me to wait 6-8 weeks more for PR cards.

It's been almost 4 months since I landed. The wait is hectic.

Same here, I called up two days back, and got the same update. This is frustrating.

Yes! Your application will turn to "Approved" from 'submitted' on myCIC, that means it has been dispatched. And, you will receive an email 24 hours later stating that your application has been updated.

Additionally, you can call up IRCC and the agent will confirm if it's dispatched!
Got the PR card on 24th August. Thank you!

Hello folks, I am currently waiting for my PPR, however since things seem to be moving, I need to understand how long does it takes "in real life" to receive the PR Card one I land in Canada? The problem is that I will not leave my current job in UAE for another year or two, my boss has agreed that I go and work remotely for a month and take another month off 'based on the IRCC site where it says 61 days processing time', however I don't want to be in situation where I need to stay longer!

To sum it up, I have 2 questions:
1- What's the "actual" processing time for a new PR card?
2- If I land in Canada, can I leave for like a month before receiving my PR Card and come back or this is not an option?

Thanks!

At the time of landing you have to provide Canadian address for PR card delivery. You can leave Canada next day as well. To return back you either need PRTD (Permanent Resident Travel Document - you can apply from UAE- processing time 2-4 weeks) or PR card.

Average processing time 61 days...depends upon luck --applicant can receive earlier or late.

Hi All,

for those who are in situation like us, this is for you

Me and my husband had jointly applied for PR.

My husband is in Canada and I am staying in Mumbai India. We received our invitation in January 2017.

Later we submitted the documents in Apr 2017.After three months of waiting we finally received our passport submission mail(PPR) on 21st Jun 2017.

we were not sure what to do? how to do? as I was in India and It was not possible for me to travel Canada because of my work constraints. Even though I am having visa I

I had visited Canada before. We had followed a lot of blogs here and mailed CIC to change my visa office to Mumbai, India. Even I called VFS several times.

But every time I received the same reply that I should come only after I have CIC confirmation mail that I can submit my passport in India.

So, we have decided to send my husband's passport to Ottawa as he was in Toronto, Canada. And along with that we also sent a cover letter asking for my location

to change to India.

My Husband sent his passport on 10th July 2017 and he finally received it on 12th of August 2017.There was no instruction about my passport. Neither we received any mail from CIC for updated location. Only me Husband COPR letter had my name in his dependent applicant list.

I decided to visit VFS Mumbai. I had taken My husband immigration visa copy and COPR copy ,my Passport, The initial mail printout which we received on 21st Jun 2017 and

Two photographs as asked in that mail. And visited the counter in VFS Mumbai. To our surprise VFS only checked the mail i.e. 21st June mail and asked me to submit the

passport with two photographs. They only charged me approx. 1000 including Courier and all services.

For those who are waiting for CIC mail to change your dependent location to home country, we will suggest you not to wait. Just visit the nearest VFS center with your original mail

and documents asked, don’t waste two months’ time as we did. Also, though the submission window was for 30 days, I had submitted mine after almost 52 days. And I received

my passport back within 2 weeks without any issue.

So, don’t worry just be calm and keep positive attitude.

PS: We are specially efforts to write this replied as these blogs helped us a lot to find the answers. Maybe we can help someone with this.

Thank you,

Snehal
