EXPERTS PLEASE HELP

Hi, I had this question for a friend

So they completed a Graduate Certificate program of 1 year/ 2 semesters in 8 months (jan 2017-aug 2017) as they did not take a break.

Program link
https://www.centennialcollege.ca/programs-courses/full-time/financial-planning/#panelOne

I wanted to know the what will be the period duration for which they will receive an PGWP on completing this program?will it be 1 year(duration of the course specified) or 8 months(time taken to complete the program?

They are looking from a point of view of settling in Canada (STUDY-WORK-PR)

Is it advisable for them to take another program for 1 year and then apply for PGWP which will be valid for 3 years

or just apply for a PGWP now

Any suggestion would be welcomed

Thanks in advance..

PLEASE REPLY

Confirmation on June 3

No update yet! Hopefully soon.
I also applied on June 1st and got confirmation on June 3rd. I think today CIC was working on May 31st applications. May be tomorrow or day after tomorrow we will get our approval as well. Hope for the best

Hi,

I think they will get 1 year PGWP. Because my friend is the same situation and the certification shows 1 year, then she got 1 year PGWP. Actually, I have another lucky friend she only took a year program but got 3 years PGWP lol

Hey guys,

I applied for my PGWP today August 14th, and the letter i attached to my application for degree requirements mentions my degree was conferred on May 17th. Based on that I am on the 90 days period but My last mark was probably posted 2 days before but no one really knows cause it never showed up for me. I am cutting it really close. Has anyone had any experience like this ? What are your thoughts if you experienced a similar timeline. My actual Grad ceremony was May 31st.

I studied 1 year graduate certificate and a normal trade certificate(i extended my study permit for this) and got the permit for 3 years.
My name was given twice on work permit(like steyn smith steyn smith) as i have given the name again on the last name, because i don't have a last name on passport.Do u guys know how to change name on it?Hope it won't create any problems in future
I took a 3 months break between courses and did not worked on sin.

Please guide me regarding ECA

I applied for credential assessment on 30 june.
I studied from different universities....two of the universities sent transcripts on my name diectly to WES.however, other two gave us the sealed envelope and i posted to WES by fedex.
But,the chaotic thing is wes updated status for one of them as 'not accepted' and on mailing them they replied that it is not in the format or somthing as required.

Moreover for that particular course,The university awarded all the student only pne certificate as 'diploma cum detail marks card'...means their are not seperate cards...but only one single card.

I am really confused and now thinking to cancel that particular course from evaluation....is it possible???
If yes,then how??
And would it in any way affect my file to apply for pr after completing work permit as i am an international student here in winnipeg????

As long as your study permit is still valid, you are fine, unless you have applied the restoration of status at the same time then you'll be okay

Thanks for your reply, my study permit is Valid till end of November, i was just streesed because i kept reading your study permit is no longer valid after 90 days of last mark posted even if the actual document is valid. I just don't get how you can determine when your last mark was posted. But based on completion letter and conferred date of degree i am on 90th day exactly.
