Hi all,

I would like to know if I need to apply for another type of visa than "visitors visa" if I want to stay in Canada for 3 months and do research in a research institute (as an internship) in these cases:

-I am funded by my home university outside Canada,
or
-I am funded by the research institute in Canada

Thank you in advance,

You need a work/study permit as you are receiving money from the research institution.

Thank you for the reply.

So, in the first case, that I receive money from my home university I do not need a work permit, only a visitor visa is enough, right?

Thank you :)

Hi again,

I have one more question. In case I am funded by my home university, but the host institution in Canada provides me an accommodation, am I still considered as an independent visitor?

Thanks,
