@simran.001 You can probably write to Ottawa seeking an update on your application in a prescribed format. Many applicants, who did it in the past, happened to notice positive results soon after. The email ID of Ottawa and email's format could be found out in the previous messages of this thread.

@gurik & @KiranK Please see if you can suggest any better course of action here. Thanks.

Exactly... My aor is April 3. Lots of early April people are waiting .. there is some delay somewhere.. but we will soon get thru.
I'm curious to know how they distribute files..later AOR's are getting processed much quicker

Yes you will as you'll go through passport control at Heathrow before going on your onward flight
Are you saying that I do need a transit visa? The other members of the group said otherwise though. In fact, I got hold of a forum on Travel Advisor that seems to suggest that I would not need to go through UKBA to get to the other terminal. Hence, I should be fine without a transit visa. But, I would definitely double-check on it with British Consulate and LHR authorities to avoid any unpleasant situation going forward.

It depends if you can get to your next terminal without going through border control. If you have to recollect baggage then you would need a transit visa as you would have to go through immigration to get there. I'm unsure of the layout of Heathrow but I would definitely double check with the airline first, they should be able to tell you officially. Good luck!

got the same response!!.. sigh

Hello All,

So this is the reply I got from CPC-CTD-Ottawa last night. I had emailed them 2 days back asking about VO and current status.

Any comments or insights are welcome as I am IP2 since July 17.
AOR April 21.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Please note that your application is being processed at the Case Processing Centre in Ottawa as per our regulatory timeline. Please note that we cannot confirm when your file will be ready for finalization.

We do not require any information from you at the present time. An officer will contact you if further information is required.

For your information, the processing times, provided on the website, is the average time it took visa offices to approve or refuse 80 percent of applications during a specified period in the past. They may not accurately predict future processing times.

We appreciate your patience and ask that you keep correspondence with our office to a minimum.

Regards,

Hey I got this from gov.uk.
Transiting without a visa
You might be eligible for ‘transit without visa’ if:

  • you arrive and depart by air
  • have a confirmed onward flight that leaves on the day you arrive or before midnight on the day after you arrive
  • have the right documents for your destination (eg a visa for that country)
One of the following must also apply:

  • you’re travelling to (or on part of a reasonable journey to) Australia, Canada, New Zealand or the USA and have a valid visa for that country.

I travelled to canada previously from the middle east on british airways. Transit through Heathrow for 6 hours, changed terminals and didnt need a transit visa. We didnt have to go through UK border control, we only went through security check to the next terminal.

Thanks for the clarification @vishalphonsa. I truly appreciate your input in this regard. Did you have to change terminal at Heathrow to board the onward flight or did you board the flight from the same terminal where you landed? My flight details indicate that I would be landing at Terminal 3 and would need to board the connecting flight from Terminal 5. I hope this action can be performed without the need of transit visa.
You won't need transit visa to change terminals. You will most likely need to hop onto the train which runs in between different terminals. Again no transit visa needed. It's really a smooth process. Don't worry at all, once you land at LHR everything will make sense.

Hi vishal, did you have a chance to speak with a CIC Customer Care Representative? Just wondering why they are delaying the PPR mails for Approved Applications. Does not make sense really.
