You know untill june 6 .2017 only 16600 profile for PR are accepted although the the total number of ITAs issued and already until March,1.2017 is 20843
That means there are 4243 rejected profiles... this is the point, Mr.Ahmed Hussien stated that he need 300.000 to be landed in canada 2017. Putting more pressure and work load on CIC.
CIC should newly invite new candidates to replace the missed ones

I respect and appreciate your great efforts , all your post are relevant
We need this 69 thread to be realistic rather than giving hope for the impossible...
For second half of 2017 there are facts we all should admit
1) there will be long gap between draws
2) number of ITAs will be less per each draw
3) the the next 4 monthd will be dedicated for PNP candidates
As a result the cut off will remain around 440 and not easy to slow down unless too many candidates who received ITAs failed to submitt his/her PR application correctly and this is a valid point really many PR applications rejected
I agree with the need to be realistic. I'm the queen of realistic. But even I find your "facts" to be overly negative. We should make our predictions based on actual rates of people entering the pool. But we should follow the example that many have started here, of making projections if the draw happens on different dates and with different numbers of ITAs. That way we can see the range that is possible, Optimistic, realistic, and pessimistic. None of us knows what CIC is intending.

Do you have some inside information on how many PNPs will be issued? With Ontario cutting off anyone who wasn't already registered, I think that forces everybody who is registered to be done in 2 weeks. (Please tell me if I am wrong.) And no one knows how many they had registered.

The other provinces seem to be even less predictable.

I admit I don't "know' anything. I can only look at the rates of people entering the pool based on the distributions that CIC provides.

You made my day my friend . Your thoughts on when would Ontario reopen once again?
I wish I knew, but I am sure they will reopen some time this year. They planned all along to pause and reopen all streams throughout the year in order to give people the chance to apply at different times throughout the year. They wanted to avoid last year's situation where they had already received enough applications in May to fill their 2016 nominations quota.
I doubt they will have filled their 2017 quota even after processing all existing applications. Unfortunately they haven't updated their statistics since July 10, but as of July 10, 3,515 nominations had been issued and there were still 2,485 nominations remaining.
http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNP_PROCESSINGTIMES.html
To have received enough new applications to fill the 2485 nominations in the 2 weeks that OINP was open after July 10, they would have needed to receive 177.5 new applications per day. That sounds excessive even in light of their statement that the HCP stream had recently seen a surge in applications.

I would say it's highly likely that they will reopen later this calendar year. They do list an estimated processing time of 30-60 days, but many on these boards, especially the ICT workers, have been getting their nominations within 10-30 days. Hopefully this means that they should finish processing existing applications, see how many more nominations they need to issue for the year, and be ready to reopen their system to new applications within a month or 2.

I am already at CLB 9 with score of L-8, R-9, W - 7.5 and S-8.
You get 3 more points per ability with CLB 10 instead of CLB 9. However, you are already at CLB 10 for all except Listening, so the most you can get by retaking the IELTS is 3 points if you score 8.5+ in Listening and don't lose any points for the other sections.

Going from 439 to 442 would be a guarantee given the last 2 draws, but you really are so close that if we have another draw that is fewer than 3 weeks after the previous draw, you are pretty much guaranteed to get an ITA. You are so close that in the time it takes to schedule the IELTS exam again (at least over here, it's just about impossible to book a test date that is sooner than 3 weeks from the current date) and wait for your scores, you might just get an ITA sooner.

There may be a few more points to be squeezed out with CLB 10. It's a lot of work for a couple points. But it seems more productive than losing sleep and just hoping future draws will be lower. I hope they will be too... but I'll be starting a master's degree in Toronto in January because nothing is guaranteed.

I think I'll ask my wife to give ielts now.

The score above doesn't include her results since when I started the procedure, the cut off was at 413. So I thought I'll be able to make it easily.

Very good idea. It might not be necessary. But it couldn't hurt if you can afford the fee.
Hmmm. Fees isn't the issue. It's worth taking a chance. Seeing the current scenario, seems like CIC doesn't want to go beyond 440. The sudden rush after 27 July of people above 440 is surprising. Seems like ontario gave nominations to many people because otherwise we have never seen such a hike suddenly.

And may be that's why the draw didn't happen last week because the number above 440 wasn't too high.
