sponsoring a new born kid of PR parents from india/Saudi Arabia

hi guys,

i know this topic has been discussed many times, how ever i just need some recent updates or time lines

me and my wife are both PR did out soft landing in october 2016, we are indian citizens working in saudi arabia,

my wife is expecting and planning in delivering the baby in india as we do not have any relatives in canada and i dont want her to be alone as i cant leave saudi due to work here until next year (till after the baby is born)

i know one of the parents has to be in canada to sponsor the kid,

what are the chances of getting a TRV?
and also if god forbid i get rejected for TRV, and i file sponsorship after i move to canada, do i need to have a job?
or just my bank balance would be enough?
also how much time will it take for the sponsorship?

please share your inputs as i have to decide based on these factors,

It's hard to say what the chances are of the TRV being approved - some are and some aren't.

No - you don't have to have a job to sponsor your child. However you do have to be living in Canada when you submit the application and while the application is processed. Assuming processing will take around six months.

are the forms easy to fill and are you sure its 6 months from the date i apply, as the CIC website says it will take around 11 months and we are still in a dielemma about having our baby in india or go to the US and have a baby there as have lots of family, but if its with in 6 months i would be relived.
