Do MP have access to better info than call center agents? We needed some info on our app and the MP called ircc for us and figured everything out

Yesterday we received an email from Ottawa VO stating they no longer had our app. We called the CIC call agents and they said it was transferred back to Mississauga. This made no sense to us so we had our MP office call IRCC and they figured out that our app was intact, still in Ottawa.

Wouldn't the MP office info I received be more reliable than the call agents?

Hi thanks for the response. I asked because they both have me different info. Just not sure who I should believe lol
 
MP offices have access to IRCC staff beyond the call centre, so they are able to get more detailed information about an application than the call centre staff can provide.

However, MP office staff generally have a low level of knowledge about immigration, so they suck at providing advice and shouldn't be relied upon for anything beyond being a channel between yourself and IRCC.

That is what I figured. I have only used them in the past for updates on my application. Not at all for advice. Hard to beat knowledgeable members of this forum like yourself!
