How long does it take to determine the eligibility for a USA Outland applicant at Ottawa VO?

I know that no one knows for sure, but just a rough estimate would be nice :)

Yes, just the eligibility. I thought they did this before bgc?
Rough estimate: 4 months less since application / 3 months since file transfer. BG check is 2 weeks to a month or two. Fyi, bgc could start simultaneously with eligibility. Your eligibility won't pass if you fail security, criminality, medical.. So if you just want to know how long they assess your relationship/marriage, then it would roughly be 3-4 months.

I have waited 60 days since transfer to Ottawa and my bgc still has not started as far as I know. Isn't 60 days since transfer and hearing nothing a little unusual? Some people get bgc started in a week roughly. Maybe they are just the lucky ones

Unusual? No. If you have straightforward application then all you have to wait for is PPR. For straightforward Ottawa apps, it is normal not to hear anything until the 4th month or 5th. Ottawa apps used to have an average of 4 months, but I think with all these Sched A nonsense, its average is up to 6 months now.

4 things you can do:

1. Order notes.
2. Go to your MP.
3. Email Ottawa VO for update.
4. Wait. ;)

My app was received march 30. I went to mp and he said he contacted ircc and they are still working on my eligibility. That was on Friday. I ordered notes Thursday but I don't even know if I did it correctly

2 months since file transfer? You're fine. I understand your anxiety but you are totally fine as far as your timeline is concerned.

I have a dismissed dui in Delaware so I am just eager for the bgc to start. I thought the eligibility would've been very quick for a USA/Canadian couple

It's been a bit more in depth as of lately with a lot of fraud going on with american/Canadian couples apparently but like he said you're well within timeframe still

Not to be a P.I.A, but can you help us try to assess our app. Update? Much thanks.
We applied 29-12-2016, received Aor on 19-01-2017. This is the current update.
