Wow that sucks! I wonder if I will get the same email on Monday as I ordered my notes on June 17?!
Maybe they will surprise you and it will come sooner than the 60 day limit. I feel for you as I am in the same boat, trying to get some kind of news as I realize that my partner's background check has now actually been in progress for almost 5 months??! I so want to find out what the heck they have been doing all this time!
Hello majesty,

Thanks for replying, I was disappointed when got the email, Now I just hope they give me some news soon. I hope they give you the response during the 30 days limit.

If you chose 1 day express airbill then it should take 2-3 weeks. Sometimes it takes a bit longer but it won't be more than 6 weeks.

I received our GCMS notes today. It is mildly disappointing in that the only thing they have started is the criminality check ( I had a gut feeling they hadn't started anything yet). We submitted the PCC from Chile upfront and the schedule A and that is the only information they have from us so far. My partner has a clear record, so there is really nothing to scrutinize with that. However, the notes say that RCMP fingerprints were requested, but we never got any requests, so it is a mystery to me what that means.

Anyways, despite the GCKey account saying that the background check has been in progress since 2/22/2017, really nothing has been done. Also the eligibility check has been saying they are reviewing our eligibility requirements since March 6. All that info really meant nothing except to give me false hope.

I guess I will be ordering the notes again in another 2 months to see if anything changes.

I've actually had the RCMP report ready for a while now and was just waiting for them to request it. I guess I will email the VO. Thanks!

I can send you the email address tomorrow morning if that works. Having tech difficulties on my phone

good you received the notes on time, its weird you never got the RCMP request, maybe they are stuck waiting for them. At least they have started eligibility for you, they haven't started my husband's eligibility, just the criminality. Did you have any notes of the agents about your relationship? any sign of interview details? I am so really sorry you couldn't get more out of the notes, I think that when they start the background checks they really take their time. Lucky for you the next time you hear from them will be the passport request, unless your medicals expire before any decision.

I will also wait 2 months to request the notes again to see if there is any progress, our case will be longer we will be requested ARC and I am starting to have a feeling that it will take more than expected time for us to reach a decision. Things were moving pretty quickly at the beginning, like mentioned before we lost a little bit of time for the mistakes of the courier, I just hope we don't have more delays.

I hope you can find out about the RCMP.

Actually they haven't started the eligibility review yet. :(

Only the criminality review has been started.

I knew they needed the RCMP fingerprint search but I'm not sure why we don't have any messages requesting them as it said in the notes RCMP fingerprint request and a due date of April 2 which has passed a long time ago (the deadline for submitting schedule
A )

Will email them to see if they want me to send the results, which I got At the end of May.

My partner's medicals look like they have been extended until May of Next year, so he doesn't have to redo the exam. (They expire at the end of this month).

They do Have a summary of our relationship under Pre-assessment

It describes how and when we met
When we lived together and lists all the evidence we provided to prove that we are common law.
Like beneficiary information for life insurance from work (they even put the percentages down as my partner left a portion to his mother and the rest to me) and documented all the dates of bills, pay stubs sent to the house etc as proof he lived at the same address as me. So it's quite detailed. Hopefully when they do the eligibility review it will help
Them to see everything is there and make the process go faster.

For now I'm just hoping to resolve the problem
With the fingerprinting through the RCMP soon so they can start the other reviews.

I guess waiting for the ARC takes a while. Hopefully it won't be too long and that everything else goes smoothly for you. It's already frustrating enough that this VO is on the slow side of doing things.

I think you'll be fine at the eligibility, sounds like you have good evidence. They must be stuck with the RCMP hopefully when you inquire about it things move pretty quickly with your app.

I have a feeling you will reach decision before me. :)

majesty, wow it is bad that your application hasn't move, it is frustrating, as you, I sent everything upfront and I am also scared they will request something, my medicals results will expire on September 5. I really don't want to redo the exams again... I hope next month I receive some good news on the notes too.

Keep positive it will pay off latter :)

This is what we received a few day ago from our MP office (they are helping us to follow up our application)

Hi XXXX:

We spoke with a Program Officer in the Minister’s Division of IRCC today. The eligibility requirements and the background check for XXXXX are still pending. As per our previous communication, the medicals are valid until August 14, 2017.

The next review date is the end of July 2017, and we have made note to follow up accordingly. In the interim, if you receive further communications/instructions from IRCC/CIC, please advise our office.

I was hoping to get some good news but this literally sucks! :(
