Honestly, I think for many of us here, the timeline isn't the issue. If I know I'm surely gonna get a PPR, I personally don't care even if it takes 8 months. It's the fear of rejection that's the worry! It's no fun getting rejected after day 120 and starting all over again!
ill have a breakdown if that happens :(

@astralsource
Is it necessary to change the status of "review of additional document" to "we do not need additional document"?

I have the following status
Review of eligibility We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements. (Since 6 June)
Review of additional documents
The additional documents you provided are being reviewed. (Since 6 June)
Background check
We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information. (Updated at 30 June)
According to your knowledge I am in IP1 or IP2?
IP2 !!

You got your Meds Passed on 05th July, and from then your BGS is at NA?? Then I believe you have sailed through IP1 and is currently in line to turn to IP2. All the best. @KiranK @gurik @johnsyk, do give your kind thoughts on this gentleman's app status, thanks. Cheers all.
You have replied perfectly. Close to IP2 as per current statistics for May.

Hey guys... so silent observer here, but owe a lot to this forum for in depth knowledge. Esp @kiran and legalfalcon and many others who openly share their experience with us.

I'm living in the UAE, same AOR as @johnsyk.

My timeline is :
AOR: April 10
Meds passed: June 15
RPRF requested / paid : June 27/June 28. RPRF request letter said your eligibility, admissibility and security are under review.
Background status: it was NA from AOR April 10 until July 15. From July 15, it says, we are processing your background check.
Also on July 15: no additional docs needed ( previously it said we require additional docs, which was the famous system glitch )
Travel history: Thailand, Malaysia, turkey, Spain, Saudi Arabia

Big question : is this IP1 or IP2????

Thanks !
Congratulations its IP2, PPR anytime now. All the best:):)

Ok guys, here is an update from my end. First piece of advice, try and avoid calling them. I don't think they like it very much. Technically, it's a call center and its not that we are disturbing any VO officer and they are bound to answer a query but going by my experience today, I don't think it works that way!

So I call them up since I am on day 98 and I am still on NA and get this agent on the phone and the first thing this curt, borderline rude agent asks me is when I called last? I said i called about 3 weeks back. He asked me, what I was told last time? I said I was told my application is in background check. He then verifies my name, phone number and email and then asks me what I want to know? I said, I want to know the status of my application and if I have passed eligibility.

  • He puts me on hold and then comes back after a minute and says my criminality and medical has passed.
  • They are yet to do my eligibility and security.

So I was like, its day 98 and would you know why its delayed so much? He doesnt know.
I asked him which visa office is my case being processed? He says its at CIO Sydney.

I asked him, wow, its day 98. Will it take a long time then at this pace?
Killer Answer in Rude and Curt manner - Yes, it will take a long time!

Gulp.

I think I am going to forget about this and no more calls! Let it come when it has to come!
This is bad on their part, really bad. People report both nice and rude agents, the person you got must have brought his frustration to work.
At least they could give information to people nicely.
Guess maybe travel history has caused delay in your criminality, its good it is passed now. Hope your GCMS shed some light here.
Also comfortablynumb reported his eligibility passed in 1 day, he was quite confident about his job before also. If you also have assurance in this regard, I think eligibility should be quick for you also. Hope for some quickness now.
I do sincerely hope you get your PPR now my friend. I applaud your spirit and patience in this regard. Best wishes for you.

Must have been one hell of an @$$#0!%!!!! You should have asked him in a borderline rude manner that was your pessimism complimentary with the information!. Nothing makes me more mad than such least bit empathetic and cold souls. Isn't kindness free? Huh!

I advice you all to order notes i believe its of great help in scenarios where no updates are present,so at least you can know where you are in details because from what i see statuses and processing times vary a lot and not 100 percent accurate,am glad i ordered mine so in case no updates happens in the next week at least i can have an idea about my progress

Since there was a rain of PPRs on Friday/Saturday I sent an e-mail to CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca on Saturday to ask about a VO again and to tell them I had a problem with my e-mail in case I got the PR mail and the mail was erased.. I just got an e-mail confirmation my app. is approved. C/P:

"Dear Ivana,
Please be advised that your application has been approved and is being processed as per our regulatory timeline at our office.
Please note that we do not require any information from you at the present time. You will be receiving instructions shortly. Regrettably, we are unable to provide you with a timeframe, but rest assured we are doing what we can to process your application in a timely fashion.
We appreciate your patience and ask that you keep correspondence with our office to a minimum.
Regards,
Marie"

So in case you get an angry officer on the phone, e-mail is a lot nicer! Basically, told the information in two sentences. Well thank you Marie. So in case you have something really important to ask them, try to do it through "VO enquiry", that way they will notice it and probably answer it. Also Sydney never responded to any e-mail, so blessed be Ottawa.
Officially waiting for the rain :) All IP2's from last week... unite!
